Often disregarded as part of any continuity, Li’l Bruce Wayne was a long-running series of light-hearted comic books aimed at children, detailing the life of a young, fantastically wealthy Bruce Wayne (known in the series as “The Happiest Kid On Earth”) in the years before the deaths of Thomas and Martha Wayne and his subsequent transformation into Batman

The series was originally created by Bill Finger and Jerry Robinson to fill a gap in DC’s publishing schedule after the cancellation of More Fun Comics in 1946, and ran through the majority of the Silver Age despite being regarded by editors and fans alike as being “extremely depressing” [citation needed] and is usually left out of any discussion of the character. It is notable, however, as being the first published comic book work of writer/artist Frank Miller.

Truly, a forgotten treasure.

Guys I am seriously in love with BookMooch. I had a shelf full of books I couldn't figure out how to get rid of -- you can't sell most books for any worthwhile amount of money, and I couldn't bring myself to throw them away. Within an hour of posting 22 titles on BookMooch, 17 of them were spoken for: requested by strangers, to whom I'll send the books in the mail. In return, I get "points" that I can redeem for other books from other strangers. If this works out, I may never have to buy books again.

In 1990, his first graphic novel was published, Superman and the tale of five cities (Superman og fredsbomben). It was the first Superman story drawn outside of the USA with the permission of DC. The story was written by Niels Søndergaard, who has been the translator of the Superman comicbook in Denmark for many years. The story starts in Amsterdam and goes, via Helsinki and Copenhagen, to Oslo and finally culminates in Stockholm.

Newsarama spoke to Jim Starlin about his upcoming Fourth World miniseries. The Death of the New Gods is the first in a series of linewide series masterminded by Dan Didio, designed specifically to eliminate the dead weight of the DC Universe.

clipper's remarks: This character is much like a 1940s version of the Incredible Hulk, in that it is a normal man who grows to become a muscular animalistic beast, similar to the classic version of the Hulk. Of course, this character is based upon the same character the Hulk was based on: Mr. Hyde, from "The Strange Case of Jekyll and Hyde."

Adam Barnett, Troublemaker

I thought you guys might get a kick out of a 1940's version of the Incredible Hulk. Just like ol' Greenskin, this guy was a normal guy who would turn into a rampaging brute when he got stressed out. Pretty cool, eh? I'm surprised DC is letting that one slide....

"Crisis of the Soul" - unwritten DC Comics crossover

The best feature of this, and most issues, is the “Greatest Story Never Told” spotlight, which shines on a post-Crisis On Infinite Earths series proposed by Paul Levitz and to be drawn by Jerry Ordway, entitled Crisis of the Soul, complete with the one page letter Levitz wrote to Ordway outlining the series. Here are some of the juicy plot points from the series:

1) Uncle Sam would have started a new Freedom Fighters group comprised of members elected from the Titans, Legion, Outsiders, JLA and Infinity, Inc.;

2) Elongated Man would kill to save Sue Dibny’s life;

3) A group of disgruntled Green Lanterns would be quarantined on Earth;

4) Creeper becomes evil; and

5) Red Tornado chooses to eliminate human life to restore the balance of nature

Seeing Tortoise Wins By A Hair on the big screen was a revelation.

This cartoon is a complete phenomenon of humans at the height of their abilities and magic. The direction is masterful. There are so many things happening sat lightning speed and they are all totally controlled and choreographed. Scribner and McKimson seem to be having a contest to see who is the greatest genius in animation history. This is absolutely one of the best cartoons made in history-certainly the best Bugs Bunny film.
