Obama hopes to expand health insurance to more residents and this grasps the attention of Edwards. At a rally held on May 14, 2008, Edwards announced that he would endorse Obama mainly on the grounds that he agreed with Obama’s plans regarding health insurance.

Tags: healthcare, health insurance, health, insurance, care, obama, democrats

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/Default.asp</clipSource>

College Grads – Living in a world of risks

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: affordablehealth-insurance.org

College Grads – Living in a world of risks

In May, college students across the country will be walking across a stage that will lead them into a world of risk and uncertainty. Our country is going through tough economic times and these new graduates are having a rough time finding employment. Many students resort to limited employment with limited benefits. An even greater risk for many students will leave them without health insurance. A standard policy for health insurance carriers enables them to drop coverage for dependents once they reach a certain age. In the case of college students, they can lose their student health insurance coverage immediately after graduation. This comes at an extremely unstable time in these young peoples lives.

<clipSource>http://affordablehealth-insurance.org/2008/05/27/college-grads--living-in-a-world-of-risks.aspx</clipSource>

Group Smoking-Cessation

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: www.healthplanone.com

The study also shows that individuals, who are trying to quit smoking, can effectively do so with support from others. In the near future, we should see group programs geared to assist people to quit smoking cigarettes.

If the results of discontinuing your smoking habits will lead to a better social network, more friends, better health, and a huge cash savings; many more will join the masses of people who have already quit the use of tobacco products. Another form of savings will come in a decrease in monthly health insurance premiums. Health insurance companies would rather insure a client who does not use tobacco products. Many health insurance companies are offering programs to assist clients to quit smoking and increase the healthiness of their lifestyle.

Tags: healthy living, smoking, tobacco, quit, smoking-cessation

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/Default.asp?ItemID=101&CategoryID=146</clipSource>

Google Breaks into the Medical Industry

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: www.healthplanone.com

Google Breaks into the

Google’s VP of Search Products and User Experience already stated that Google is working on creating an even greater security system for the storage of medical information. It may be difficult to force people to transfer their medical information into an online database but this can greatly benefit patients as well as doctors. It can minimize the amount of testing involved since doctors and hospitals will have a patient’s entire medical history, making a medical diagnosis easier. Medical documents will eventually be stored in a digital format; it’s only a matter of time and perfection of technology.

Tags: health care, medical, internet, google, microsoft

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/</clipSource>

Expanding New Jersey’s FamilyCare Health Insurance

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: affordablehealth-insurance.org

Expanding New Jersey’s FamilyCare Health Insurance

Objection comes from many who currently purchase their own New Jersey Health Insurance. Of the 88,000 individuals, they are largely concerned with how the new costs will affect the costs and access of their healthcare. In recent years, it hasn’t been uncommon for health insurers to increase their rates by 20%. This has become an increasingly unbearable cost as yearly salaries are only increasing by about 10%.

The proposed Bill, if signed, will become effective in 2010 but will be voted on this summer. In the ICU, statistics show spreading of infectious diseases is decreasing thanks to some precautions. It’s a well known fact that you may likely become sick when you are seeking medical treatment in a hospital. Infectious diseases can easily be passed by patients, nurses, and doctors. But in <State w:st="on"><place w:st="on">New York</place></State>, they were able to decrease the passing of pneumonia, central-line infections, and surgical infections. These hospitals emphasize hand washing and the use of drapes between patients to limit the travel of infectious bacteria. Simple precautions have proven to be effective in hospitals and very well should become a focus of all hospitals. By cutting back on preventative illness, the cost of healthcare can be significantly decreased across the country.

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/Default.asp</clipSource>

Healthcare Reform in Pennsylvania

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: affordablehealth-insurance.org

Health Insurance companies lead the campaign to improve primary care and

Obama and Clinton have defended their views and fought a long battle, but neither opponent seems to show any signs of backing down. Even though the Party will eventually decide which candidate they want, will it give that candidate enough time to win the entire Party? Only time will tell; but these democrats have developed into players with many different views. A standard democratic goal aims to provide medical health insurance to every individual and family of the <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">United States</place></country-region>. Many liberals agree that a universal healthcare system and a single-payer would be the greatest and most efficient way in providing health insurance. Realistically, this system would eliminate millions of jobs. Every health insurance company and health insurance broker would immediately lose its entire client base.

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/Default.asp?ItemID=98&CategoryID=141</clipSource>

HSA Benefits for the Insurer and the Insured

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: www.affordablehealth-insurance.org

Health Insurance Providers across the state of <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Georgia</place></country-region> will receive a larger incentive to promote Health Savings Accounts. On May 7th, 2008 a bill was signed to grant tax advantages to health insurers when a new individual signs up for a Health Savings Account. Health Savings Accounts are designed as high deductible plans with low monthly premiums to give individuals and families and opportunity to save money. Savings Accounts are created specifically for health and medical issues. These savings accounts pass the tax advantages to the individual for an opportunity to save money without being taxed. These saving accounts can also be used for retirement savings.

<clipSource>http://www.affordablehealth-insurance.org/</clipSource>

Outsourcing the Medical Industry

clipped by: JoeyGallo667
clipper's remarks: Has it really come to this?!?!?

Clip Source: www.healthplanone.com

Outsourcing the
Medical Industry

Patients who travel to other countries are referred to as Medical Tourists. A recent study shows that these tourist travel to other countries for a few different main reasons. The majority of patients traveling to the <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">US</place></country-region> and other industrialized countries to seek a better quality of medical care or to obtain the latest in medical advances. But a growing number of patients are beginning to travel to other countries to seek lower costs. In the <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">USA</place></country-region>, 710,000 procedures are performed per year at an average of $50,000 per procedure for a grand total of $35 billion in revenue. These procedures could be done overseas for about $15,000 less per procedure. Though, it may be more likely for most patients to stay in the <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">US</place></country-region> since they also rely on medical insurance.

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/Default.asp?ItemID=97&CategoryID=141</clipSource>

Socializing San Francisco’s Healthcare Industry

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: affordablehealth-insurance.org

Socializing San Francisco’s Healthcare Industry

Although many business owners are against the bill, 18,000 have been insured since it began. Many employees who receive a policy through a group health insurance plan claim they never would have sought a plan on their own, but with the new Bill set in place, they are able to obtain a plan through their employer without searching on their own. Regardless of the laws set in place, many people are not even interested in obtaining health insurance. One local business owner offered health insurance to 45 employees and only received feedback from less than 5%. The laws set in place differ from <State w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Massachusetts</place></State> as they do not require citizens to obtain health insurance, only that employers pay for it.

<clipSource>http://affordablehealth-insurance.org/2008/05/05/socializing-san-franciscos-healthcare-industry.aspx</clipSource>

Repairing the Economic Future

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: www.healthplanone.com

Repairing the Economic

critical time for our country. The Presidential Election in November 2008 will
create a shift in power as a new President enters the office. With three
candidates still in the running, each one has begun to build their plan to bring
the US to salvation. These plans have a
dramatic shift from party to party and candidate to candidate. On the democratic
side, Obama and Clinton promote more government spending leaving McCain as the
only advocate to cut mindless government programs that generate unnecessary
expenses. McCain’s plan would promote the idea that government programs should
not run on forever. Disbanding these outdated programs could potentially limit
future unnecessary government spending. Programs like Social Security and Medicare would need
to be altered to serve our country without leaving us with huge deficits to make
up for.

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/</clipSource>

The Shift toward Health Savings Accounts

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: affordablehealth-insurance.org

The Shift toward Health Savings Accounts

The Bush administration introduced Health Savings Accounts into the health insurance industry as a way to slow the escalating costs of healthcare. Health Savings Accounts have been adopted by more than six million people across the <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">US</place></country-region> and the number continues to grow. Although the monthly premiums are low, the barrier to entry is rather high considering the upfront costs of the program. Statistics show the average income of HSA enrollee’s is around $139,000; whereas the average health insurance enrollee is only $57,000. The huge difference between the two figures is mainly because of the tax advantages you receive when enrolling in an HSA plan. As a family, you can deposit $5,800 or as an individual, you can deposit $2,900 on a tax free basis. You can use this savings account to pay for future medical expenses or you can use the savings as a retirement savings account.

<clipSource>http://affordablehealth-insurance.org/2008/05/01/the-shift-toward-health-savings-accounts.aspx</clipSource>

Deregulating the Health Insurance Market

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: www.healthplanone.com

Deregulating the Health

These rules and regulations have forced health insurers to change the way they operate their business to meet new government requirements. Over the years, states adopted new laws as the healthcare industry evolved. Depending on the state’s political views and opinions, each state chose to adopt different state laws. New Jersey Health Insurance markets have guaranteed every <place w:st="on"><State w:st="on">New Jersey</State></place> resident access to health insurance, but this has forced the cost of health insurance premiums to skyrocket.

Expanding the health insurance market to individuals will create a larger pool
of participants and a larger sense of competition between health insurance
carriers. In theory, the national marketplace will force health insurance
providers to compete and drive down the cost of health insurance premiums.

<clipSource>http://www.healthplanone.com/blog/Default.asp?ItemID=95&CategoryID=141</clipSource>

Hospitals Require Upfront Payments to Cover Treatment Costs

clipped by: JoeyGallo667

Clip Source: affordablehealth-insurance.org

<A

The new policy requires patients with inadequate health insurance to pay the up front costs for their cancer treatments. A recent case has made headlines in the press. Lisa Kelly, was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006, she was referred to seek immediate care at the M.D. Anderson Cancer. The cancer center had already adopted their new financial policy in 2005 requiring patients to cover costs before treatment. The hospital requested that Kelly pay over $100,000 before they would begin any form of treatment or testing.

<clipSource>http://affordablehealth-insurance.org/</clipSource>
