Jewelry, as we all know, is an essential accessory in every woman's wardrobe. But how would you feel about wearing jewelry that not only made you feel and look good but also benefited the lives of others? I know for me, that is a huge plus in my book!

I had the opportunity to try out the Zulugrass strands in Deep Sea Blue and I really can't say enough wonderful things about this! Zulugrass jewelry is made with grass, an available sustainable resource, which is harvested by hand, blade by blade from tall strands, then cut by hand, bead by bead. The grass grows with a hole in it which is hard and durable, it's then dyed in many different vibrant colours and strung into necklaces. The cool thing about the Zulugrass strands is that you can wear the jewelry in many different ways; as a bracelet, necklace, anklet or more.

Q3 E-Tail Rebounded After A Slow Q2: Poll

In a good sign for the holiday season, a new poll found that e-tail sales rebounded last quarter after a weak second quarter.

The poll by Mercent, which sells services and software that help firms that sell products on big e-tail sites such as Amazon.com (AMZN), found that sales for a group of its clients rose 11.4% last quarter compared with 2008's third quarter.

WASHINGTON — Procrastinating tax cheats will get a few extra weeks to apply for an amnesty program that has been flooded with applications from people who hid assets overseas.

The Internal Revenue Service said Monday it will extend the deadline, originally set for Wednesday, until Oct. 15.

"They're sitting in disbelief that this is going on," said Richard Boggs, chief executive of Nationwide Tax Relief, a Los-Angeles-based tax firm that specializes in clients with tax debts exceeding $100,000. "I ask people to ask of themselves, 'What is their peace of mind worth? What is a fresh start worth? What is a clear conscience worth?'"

Zulugrass Giveaway

Since I'm sooo excited about Fall week, I'm going to start a little bit early. I love jewelry and the sad part is that I have very few pieces. I have tiny wrists, so finding bracelets that work has always been a task. And I gave up majority of my jewelry when my ex and I split. But, I'm enjoying finding great Eco-friendly companies who sell amazing pieces, so this will be a very fun post!

I was contacted by the Leakey Collection about doing a review for their Zulugrass. When I first saw the Zulugrass, I automatically had a 80's flashback of the jewelry I used to wear in layers. I loved it! I then started to research the company and knew this was a cause I had to support.

Zulugrass is unique jewelry handmade by the Maasai women of Kenya. Zulugrass is actually a grass that is harvested and cut, blade by blade by hand.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Charter schools, already seeing a surge in students, are getting attention from another group — private investors.

Entertainment Properties Inc., known mostly for sinking its money into movie theaters and wineries, recently bought 22 locations from charter school operator Imagine Schools for about $170 million. The real estate investment trust acts as landlord, while Imagine operates the schools and is using the investment to expand its chain of 74 locations.

"They really are an effective source of long-term financing that we can rely on and enables us to do what we're best at, which is running schools, and do what they're best at, which is long-term real estate ownership," said Barry Sharp, chief financial officer for Arlington, Va.-based Imagine. "It's a good fit."

UBS to disclose 4,450 Swiss accounts

Under an agreement negotiated by the governments of Switzerland and the U.S., the IRS will get access to less than one-fourth of the accounts held by Americans at Swiss banking giant UBS AG that the bank itself previously acknowledged were kept secret from U.S. tax authorities.

Richard Boggs, the CEO of the tax resolution firm Nationwide Tax Relief, said many wealthy Americans who enjoyed the comfort of offshore banking accounts for decades are angry about the recent developments regarding UBS. In discussing the situation with some of them, Mr. Boggs said he's "been hung up on more than I can remember."

"We always recommend taking advantage of an opportunity ... get to the IRS before they get to you," he said, adding he tells clients: "Get ready to pay the piper and bite the bullet, and you're going to be glad you did because this is as good as it gets."

About a month or so ago, I got the extreme pleasure of winning some very beautiful strands of Zulugrass from a website called The Leaky Collection. Now, you know me, I'm all for helping a great cause no matter what it may be, so when I received my jewelry and read a little about what I had won, I was all for writing up a feature!!

Not exactly sure what Zulugrass jewelry is? Here is a brief description of the product from their website:

The Leaky Collection was started by Katy and Phillip Leaky back in 2001 when they found themselves living in the rural Rift Valley of Kenya, among the Maasai people.

Phillip Leaky is known in Kenya for his dedication towards improving conditions for all Kenyan's with particular focus on the areas of business opportunity and the environment, were his wife, Katy Leaky is an artist and designer who's interest has been connecting diverse cultures through understanding one anothers motivations.

Lately it seems like all I’ve written about is cloth diapers and baby stuff but that’s about to change. Every mom craves to feel like a woman and jewelry is a perfect way to feel womanly. Unfortunately most mothers of young children don’t get to wear much jewelry in fear of our little ones ripping it off with their little tugs.

I received a package from The Leakey Collection a few weeks ago and I was skeptical when I opened it to find the delicate Zulugrass jewelry. When I opened the package a few of the beads fell loose and I was sure this was going to be a disaster around Lil’ B. I wanted to give it a fair chance though so I’ve worn the strands of Zulugrass almost everyday since then. I’ve worn them mostly as bracelets but they can be worn as necklaces, arm bands, anklets, waist bands, and hair bands. The elastic that the Zulugrassis strung on is very strong, it was invented for the movie Spiderman.
