A study published in the journal Biology Letters concludes that dogs can "catch" human yawns, which provides evidence that dogs may be able to “read the mind” of their owners.

the first ever study to report that human yawns induce yawning in dogs found that 21 out of 29 dogs yawned in response to human yawning, showing that "dogs possess the capacity for a rudimentary form of empathy."

really enjoy The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Milan. He is a gifted animal trainer, and it seems he can correct just about any dog in the world. He is a true master and clearly communicates with dogs at an energetic level. If you own a dog and are not familiar with Cesar yet, his show is an absolute must-see.

In his book Twelve Diseases That Changed Our World, Irwin Sherman, a professor emeritus of biology at the University of CaliforniaRiverside, describes how bacteria, parasites, and viruses have swept through cities and devastated populations, felled great leaders and thinkers, and in their wake transformed politics, public health, and economies. U.S.News & World Report spoke with Sherman about how 12 key diseases—smallpox, tuberculosis, syphilis, AIDS, influenza, bubonic plague, cholera, malaria, yellow fever, two noninfectious diseases (hemophilia and porphyria), and the plant disease behind the Irish Potato Famine—have altered history.

Bubonic plague is mainly a disease in rodents and fleas (Xenopsylla cheopis).

First Cash Register. James Ritty an owner of a Saloon in Ohio, invented the first cash register in 1879 to stop his employees from stealing money. Later he sold his cash register company and the new owner added a roll of paper to it and started the first line of registers with receipts.

Portraits Made of Pennies. The artist behind these portraits and other artwork like this is Adrian Firth. The two pieces are called, Lizzie - pennies on mdf board 2008 and Made of Money - pennies on mdf board 2007.

$100,000 Dollar Note. This is the 1934 $100,000 dollar note. It featured Woodrow Wilson.

Ceiling of Money. This ceiling can be found in the No Name Pub in Big Pine Key, FL. The whole pub is filled with money on the ceiling and walls. Started in 1931, and fueled by the popularity of Jimmy Buffet, people have continued to put money of the walls. It is estimated that the pub has $750,000 dollars in money on it’s wall.

Exploration and Urban Decay

Once a building no longer serves its purpose, and all of its functionality ceases to exist, it becomes truly fascinating. Each room is transforming into something new at its own rate, yielding to the forces of nature as it reclaims man's creation.

Each object left behind becomes more significant than it has ever been, hinting at the life prior to its disuse. Floors collapse and walls cave in without care; if you get hurt, no one is here to help you.

This site, started in 2002, is basically an account of the various abandonments I have explored and the photographs I have taken.

Sexual desire and orgasm are subject to various influences on the brain and nervous system, which controls the sex glands and genitals.

The ingredients of desire may differ for men and women, but researchers have revealed some surprising similarities. For example, visual stimuli spur sexual stirrings in women, as they do in men.

Achieving orgasm, brain imaging studies show, involves more than heightened arousal. It requires a release of inhibitions engineered by shutdown of the brain’s center of vigilance in both sexes and a widespread neural power failure in females.

the first studies of human sexuality appeared in the 1940s. In 1948 biologist Alfred Kinsey of Indiana University introduced his first report on human sexual practices, Sexual Behavior in the Human Male, which was followed, in 1953, by Sexual Behavior in the Human Female. These highly controversial books opened up a new dialogue about human sexuality.

A study of nearly half a million children across England shows us that many musical instruments are learnt in schools overwhelmingly by either one sex or the other. This is because, when children pick a musical instrument to learn, they are very often influenced by gender stereotypes. It appears that boys prefer musical instruments that are struck or require high levels of physical exertion.

Get to Sleep Faster by Tensing Up and Repeating "The"

Tensing until your muscles hurt may not seem the most sensible way of getting to sleep, but it's a popular and proven cognitive technique. Systematically tense each muscle group in turn until it starts to hurt... and then let go. This creates a warm feeling of relaxation, and any tension should flow away. The theory is that with physical relaxation comes mental calmness.

Just repeating "the" could be the solution. It's known as a blocking strategy, another cognitive technique. The aim is to stop the mind racing.
Repeating a simple word like "the" at irregular interval blocks other thoughts coming into your head.
