Split Browser

This splits the content area of the browser window as you like. It will help you in various cases. For example, to compare multiple webpages, to show a calendar always, and so on.

There is some ways to split window.

* Choose the "Split Browser to" menu in the context menu.
* Choose the "Load in Split Browser" menu in the context menu on link.
* Click popup-button on top/bottom/left/right edges of the content area.

* Drop links, bookmarks, etc. to popup-button on top/bottom/left/right edges of the content area while dragging.

You can split browsers over and over. Status of split browsers are saved, and automatically restored on the next startup.

We have earlier told you about Mood Lighting lamps, coffee tables and furniture based on mood lighting. But, this illuminated canvas lamp is another of the sort. On Monday January 15, UK television broadcaster, Channel Four, aired a documentary entitled "Undercover Mosques". This show exposed the preaching of hatred, coming from Saudi Arabia, which was being voiced in British mosques.

Today's Sunday Telegraph states that Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, head of the "Muslim Parliament of Britain", has urged police to take action against the mosque leaders and imams featured. Though West Midlands Police said that it was "considering an investigation", SIddiqui claimed that it was "unacceptable" that the police force had not yet begun a full inquiry.

One individual featured on the documentary is Murtaza Khan. Full name Abu Hasnayn Murtaza Khan, he is a graduate of the International Islamic University in Islamabad, with a BA Honors in "Usool-ud Din". He also teaches at the Al-Noor Primary School in Goodmayes in Ilford, near London. He has given lectures around Britain, and last year he gave Arabic classes to the students' Islamic Society at Queen Mary College, University of London.

On the Channel Four documentary, he was heard to say: "For how long do we have to see our mothers, sisters and daughters having to uncover themselves before these filthy non-Muslim doctors? We should have a sense of shame."

On Audio CD's, such as Return to the Quran by Knowledge Books, he said: "Those whom the wrath of Allah is upon, is the Jews, is the Christians." He continued: "We have become Jews in our clothing, Jews in our eating, Jews in everything that we do, and the other half is Christian in everything we do. Muslims are following one of these accursed nations. And people are still not waking up to understand the fact that these people are enemies towards us." These passages were reproduced on the Channel Four Documentary, whose consultant was Martin Bright, editor of the New Statesman.

Eliminate extra exclamation points!!!

I’m not militant about punctuation but i do find it annoying when people write things with lots of exclamation points. So i created a Greasemonkey script that turns anywhere from 2-42 exclamation points into just one. Greasemonkey has to be installed and you need to be using Firefox in order for this to work. If you have them both already then grab my excessive exclamation points script. There is some excessive punctuation below for you to test. After you have installed the script just refresh this page and you should see the exclamation points disappear from this post’s title and the lines below.

Social bookmarking has taken off in a huge way, and nowadays we have more options than you can shake a mouse at. My personal favorite is del.icio.us, not simply because it was the first (or one of?), but more because of all the tools that hook in and provide access to my bookmarks. Delibar is a great Mac OS X utility that provides access from the menubar, and we also found Deliwin that provides the same functionality for all y'all rolling with Windows. But for me, the killer feature is being able to call my bookmarks from the beauty of Qiucksilver, my die-without-it, Mac OS X swiss army knife of an app launcher and file manipulator.

But enough about me - what say you, DLS readers? Did you leave del.icio.us in the dust months ago? Perhaps you prefer the more community-focused Ma.gnolia, or any of the other zillions of options that have arisen. Brandeis University to Allow Rebuttal After Carter Speech [P]

WASHINGTON — Former President Jimmy Carter won't go unchallenged after his appearance next week at Brandeis University, where he is lecturing on his latest book about what he terms the Palestinian apartheid by Israel.

Harvard Law School Professor Alan Dershowitz will step on stage afterward to rebut the former president's remarks despite having been booted from an earlier booking to debate Carter on his assertions.

“I think the inaccuracies of Carter’s points have to be pointed out. Carter said he wrote the book in order to stimulate a debate, but he won’t debate. I’m debating him whether he’s there or not,” Dershowitz told FOXNews.com.

“If his chair is empty, then that’s his decision,” he said.

The book "portrays the conflict between Israel and her neighbors as a purely one-sided affair with Israel holding all the responsibility for resolving the conflict," reads the resignation letter. "In light of the publication of your latest book 'Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid' and your subsequent comments made in promoting the book, we can no longer in good conscience continue to serve the Center as members of the board of councilors."

The reaction to Carter's book has also stirred up accusations about Carter's alleged involvement on behalf of a known Nazi guard who was deported to Austria in 1987.

In an exclusive interview to Israeli national news agency Arutz Sheva, a former U.S. Justice Department official said he received a letter from Carter in 1987 asking him to go easy on Martin Bartesch, who was known to have helped murder Jews in the Mauthausen death camp in Austria.

"It always bothered me, but I didn’t go public with it until recently, when he wrote this book and let it spill out where his sentiments really lie,” Sher said. “Here was Jimmy Carter jumping in on behalf of someone who did not deserve in any way, shape or form special consideration. And the things he has now said about the Jewish lobby really exposes where his heart really lies.”

Are you aware of the al Qaeda plot to assassinate President Bush that was uncovered in 2005? Did you know that jihad terrorists in the U.S. financed the 1993 World Trade Center bombing partially through the sale of counterfeit T-shirts? Did you know that a professor at the University of South Florida in the 1990s was one of the international leaders of the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad and that he used his university activities as a cover while he raised money, gained recruits and disseminated propaganda for the jihad group? Had you heard that in May 2003, an American citizen living in Ohio pled guilty to conducting surveillance of the Brooklyn Bridge and other potential targets for al Qaeda?

These were not isolated incidents. In fact, they are just a few of the known activities of a huge jihad network that still operates in the United States, but of which few Americans are aware. That lack of awareness, however, is not because the information is unavailable: Steven Emerson’s “Jihad Incorporated: A Guide to Militant Islam in the U.S.” tears the cover off this American jihad network. It is a comprehensive summation of what is known about the activities of al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other jihad groups within the United States. Although the tone of this book is sober and straightforward throughout, the cumulative effect is startling: The extent to which these jihad groups have penetrated American society is likely to come as a surprise even to relatively informed readers.

“Homegrown plotters, sleeper cells, intolerant and hateful imams, and their domestic apologists,” Emerson explains, “all seek to undermine the foundations of this country through a variety of means: rhetoric, fund-raising, and violence. Intricate webs of interconnected groups and organizations have been established to pursue—and often to obfuscate—the zealots’ destructive objectives.”

Over the last 6 months, I have rarely watched regular TV, but did not have the patience to download programs, having found a wealth of timeless classics such as Kenneth Clark's Civilisation [sic] available instantly, as a streamed video of 'good enough' quality.
Smashing Telly is a hand edited collection of the best free, instantly available TV on the web. Not 30 second clips of a dog on a skateboard, or the millionth person to mime the Numa song, but full length programs. Smashing Telly, not Gimmick Telly.

Many of the items that I'll be putting up on a regular basis are documentaries, since thats what tends to be out there at the moment.

The overwhelmingly negative assessment of the U.S. counter-terrorism strategy laid out by John Negroponte and other leaders of the intelligence community in the annual worldwide threat assessment was surprisingly under-reported.

But buried in the bleak assessment, one of the starkest in recent reports, was a realistic outline of the spreading threats on multiple Islamist fronts that we are facing.

The report was notable for its candor and the end to the happy talk that has often made its way into assessments on the struggle against the jihadist threat. What is amazing is that, five years and billions of dollars after 9-11, we are falling behind in the conflict. We are not even really competing in the field of ideas, and we have done little to mitigate the broader problems.

The enemy is the ideology and theology that is still be funded by billions of dollars a year to spread its poison. There are two different poisons-the Salafist-Sunni version funded by Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, and the Shia poison funded by Iran. Both are aimed at killing us before they turn on each other.

Yet we are fighting primarily a counterinsurgency war with almost no ideological component. The Islamist front groups in this country and Europe largely operate with impunity, and there is almost no effort to help true, fundamentalist Muslims who understand the danger of the Islamists to get their message out, either here or abroad.

But is a mistake to focus solely on the geographic location of the old al Qaeda leadership. What is more important is the network that exists that wants to respond to the leadership even if they have no organic link to the al Qaeda organization. It is the ideology that is the unifying and driving force.

Somalia may be a victory or a prelude to another ongoing, bleeding conflict that drains lives and resources, where the Islamists can ultimately regroup and come back.

The realism is refreshing. The reality is scary.

Abbas urges: 'Raise rifles against Israel' [excerpt]

RAMALLAH – In a speech today commemorating the 42nd anniversary of the founding of his Fatah party, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas called on Palestinian factions to put an end to weeks of infighting and instead "raise rifles against the Israeli occupation."

"Shooting at your brother is forbidden. Raising rifles against the occupation is our legitimate right, but raising guns against each other is forbidden. We should put our internal fighting aside and raise our rifles only against the Israeli occupation," said Abbas in a speech in Ramallah attended by WND.

Abbas' call to arms was not reported by most major media outlets featuring articles on the Palestinian leader's speech.

His statements about using rifles against Israel come after WND broke the story this morning the United States, aided by Israel, over the last few weeks provided 7,000 assault rifles and more than 1 million rounds of ammunition to militias associated with Abbas' Fatah party, according to senior Fatah militants.

Tired of fake torrents ? Block the sources

We all knew and heard about the common method to upload fake torrents into the torrent system to punish downloaders of copyrighted media files. The Torrentfreak blog reports that some torrent admins were able to identify some of the IP ranges that spread fake torrents and probably also the company that is behind it. The easiest way to cope with the situation would be to block the IP ranges either in your firewall or in a utility such as Peer Guardian. Below are the information for Peer Guardian 2, simply use the IP ranges if you want to block the IPs in your firewall.

The fake torrents look like real torrents on first glance and are disguised as valid group releases such as Battlestar Galactica S03E07 REPACK DSR XviD-ORENJi. According to nforce.nl Orenji is the group that is releasing Battlestar Galactica episodes.

Everyone should be well aware that the worst thing that can happen is not a crippled file but legal consequences. Those trackers surely log every IP and connection that is made and this might lead to legal consequences as well. I’am no lawyer but it is at least doubtful if this is indeed copyright infringement if you download a file that is not working at all.

Anyone one else noticing the intermittent problems with the Comments tab functionality on your Clipmarks home page?

It's supposed to display all clips on which I have made comments, but lately has not been doing so. Instead it lists only my clips.

This happened before, but just as I was going to comment about it, it returned to normal function, and so I thought it had been fixed.
