The need for coddling means the state will use public education for this end, and align itself against churches that refuse to recognize same-sex "marriage."

State-ordered gay "marriage" is an attack, not only on legitimate marriage, but upon religious freedom and the freedom not to have one's children indoctrinated into alien ideas about marriage.

In Michigan, a homosexual man is suing two Christian publishers—Zondervan and Tyndale House—for $70 million dollars. Bradley Fowler claims they violated his constitutional rights and caused him "emotional distress" by publishing versions of the Bible that call homosexuality a sin.

As Seana Sugrue explains in The Meaning of Marriage,

marriage is a pre-political institution, rooted in biology and moral obligations. Sugrue writes, "The reality of sex differences between men and women, leading to the potential for offspring, is essential to the pre-political foundation of marriage."

But marriage as a political form of social order, independent of the state, "is precisely what advocates of same-sex 'marriage' seek to change," according to Sugrue. "Marriage rooted in procreation and sexual differences is to be replaced by marriage for the gratification of two consenting adults."

But unlike traditional marriage, "same-sex 'marriage' requires a condition of soft despotism to exist," Sugrue warns.

More United Methodists are throwing their support behind clergy in California who want to perform same-sex "marriages" despite the denomination's stance that homosexual practice is "incompatible with Christian teaching."

On Thursday, delegates from the Northeastern Jurisdiction Conference of the United Methodist Church - from Maine south to West Virginia - approved a resolution expressing respect for clergy in the California regional bodies who participate in wedding same-sex couples "as a matter of Christian conscience, spiritual discernment and prophetic witnessing," as reported by the United Methodist News Service.

In April, measures that would have removed the ban on noncelibate gay pastors and the statement that homosexual practice is "incompatible with Christian teaching" were voted down after emotional debates.

In the following months, however, regional conferences have approved measures supporting homosexuals after the California Supreme Court legalized gay "marriage" on May 15.

Senator Jim DeMint says many Christians and their pastors are afraid to state their moral convictions about abortion, homosexuality, pornography, and other issues.

The South Carolina Republican is co-author of a new book titled Why We Whisper – Restoring Our Right To Say It's Wrong. DeMint blames government, and courts in particular, for turning wrongs into rights and barring religious views from public debate. Government rulings, he argues, have changed American culture.

"Before the 1960s, it was pretty clear that abortion was wrong, that sex outside of marriage was wrong, that unwed birth was wrong, and pornography, homosexuality – all this was considered wrong by the society," DeMint contends. "But government came in and turned right and wrong upside down."

DeMint says religious appeals have essentially been barred from public debate.

DeMint adds. "But the government essentially said that religion must be separated from public life.

The executive director of the Presbyterian Lay Committee says the recent meeting of the Presbyterian Church (USA) highlighted a disregard for historic Reformed standards and a failure to glorify Jesus Christ.

During its recent meeting in San Jose, California, the highest governing body of the PCUSA voted in favor of a proposal that would allow for the ordination of non-celibate homosexual men and women. The General Assembly also initiated a process to revise the Heidelberg Catechism to delete the Bible's prohibition against homosexuality.

"Some churches are looking to withhold per capita giving from the denomination, essentially refusing to fund any denominational activities, and are redirecting their giving to missions [with] which they are familiar and which they trust," Burge explains. Unless the PCUSA reverses course, he says, it is in danger of extinction.

A spokesman for McDonald's restaurants says those who oppose same-sex "marriage" are motivated by hate.

Earlier this month, the American Family Association (AFA) called for a boycott of the hamburger giant because of the company's promotion of the homosexual agenda. The AFA took issue with McDonald's refusal to remain neutral in the culture war.

McDonald's donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, in exchange for membership and a seat on the group's board of directors.

A homosexual man has filed a $70 million lawsuit against Bible publishers Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, alleging that their version of the Bible that refers to homosexuality as a sin violates his constitutional rights and has caused him emotional distress.

Bradley LaShawn Fowler, an ex-con turned author, filed the federal suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Monday, the same day a judge refused to appoint him a lawyer for his suit against Thomas Nelson, The Grand Rapids Press reported.

Fowler, who is representing himself in both cases, claims that Zondervan manipulated Scripture by using the term "homosexuals" in 1 Corinthians 6:9 of their 1982 and 1987 revised edition Bibles. He also contends that the reference to homosexuality were deleted by the publisher in later versions without informing the public.

He alleges that since the older Kings James Version containing the term "homosexuals" is used by his family pastor, he has been outcast by his family.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) moved forward Tuesday with proposals that would allow for practicing gay clergy while rejecting one that would have redefined the definition of marriage.

In a 41-11 vote Tuesday night, the Committee on Church Orders and Ministry recommended to the 218th General Assembly – the denomination's highest governing body – that it delete wording in the ordination standard that requires "fidelity within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman or chastity in singleness."

McColl expressed hope that congregations that could not tolerate another debate over ordination standards be allowed to "graciously leave" the denomination, as reported by the news service. A motion urging a gracious and pastoral response to congregations seeking to leave the PC(USA) was approved.

REEDSBURG, Wis. (AP) - An elementary-school event in which kids were encouraged to dress as members of the opposite gender drew the ire of a Christian radio group, whose angry broadcast prompted outraged calls to the district office.

Students at Pineview Elementary in Reedsburg had been dressing in costume all last week as part of an annual school tradition called Wacky Week. On Friday, students were encouraged to dress either as senior citizens or as members of the opposite sex.

The dress-up day was not an attempt to promote cross-dressing, homosexuality or alternative gender roles, district administrator Tom Benson said.

The theme for Friday's dress-up day came from students, Hayes said.

About 40 percent of the student body dressed up Friday, Hayes estimated, with half portraying senior citizens and half dressing as the opposite sex.

clipper's remarks: Interesting how culture changes ones perspective. The things the bible calls sin does not seem to make the top 10 list. I guess the reason for that is most churches do not preach about sin anymore. So then society is left to it's own devises to come up with respectable behavior.

“Sin,” as defined by the research organization, is “something that is almost always considered wrong, particularly from a religious or moral perspective.” The study questioned more than 1,000 American adult respondents whether they believe in such a thing as “sin” and then asked them whether 30 different behaviors were sinful.

Out the list of 30 behaviors, adultery was most often described as a sinful behavior by American respondents (81 percent).

Following adultery was racism (74 percent); using “hard” drugs such as cocaine, heroine, meth, LSD, etc. (65 percent); not saying anything if a cashier gives you too much change (63 percent); abortion (56 percent); and homosexual activity or sex (52 percent) rounded out the top five behaviors most often considered sinful by Americans.

Other behaviors with significant moral objections included

reading or watching pornography

swearing

sex before marriage

harming the environment as a consumer

smoking marijuana

getting drunk

clipper's remarks: Sometimes we make much to do about nothing. Considering all the parodies in the world depicting art or movies or other iconic symbols this is just one of another examples of the type of people who participate in these activities.

To think that the promoters of this event want people to look upon them as anti- Christian makes one pause to wonder why? I mean if I was promoting an event that I want to make mainstream why would I go out of my way to invoke ridicule by mocking mainstream?

Could it be that is exactly how these people think? They really are not mainstream and they hate mainstream thinking and they want to be IN THE Face of mainstream America?

If that is the case then I say do unto others as you would have them do unto you?

Just to make it clear to the folks at Folsom Street Fair. The Christ of the Da Vinci original Last Supper died to forgive the most vilest of sinners yourself included. Perhaps you should embrace Him and not mock Him?

The ad is promoting the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco -- essentially a multi-city block party for homosexuals. It shows a group of men and women scantily clad, at a long table, laden with sex toys and sado-masochistic implements.

The group behind the ad said it was not intended to be either "pro-religion or anti-religion," but the poster -- a parody of Leonardo da Vinci's painting "The Last Supper" -- continued to draw fire from Christian organizations on Tuesday.

What to do with a Transgender Pastor?

As an institution the church has been taking on the appearance of the society in which it was supposed to stand in contrast too. Instead of taking on the appearance of Jesus Christ himself the church has been taking on the garments of the fallen society that Jesus came to save.

The Church of Christ is supposed to different from the world, set apart for the purpose of promoting Christ and His kingdom. Oh how far we have fallen.

The church as a whole needs to repent and return to Christ and become Christlike not worldlike.

A year ago, the Rev. Ann Gordon received her routine reappointment as minister of a Charles Village Methodist congregation. Yesterday - after undergoing a sex-change operation and taking on a new symbolic name - the Rev. Drew Phoenix received another one-year contract to head St. John's United Methodist Church.

However; I have seen and heard a lot of things lately that used to be taboo only to see them becoming more and more mainstream. ALEXANDRIA, La. (BP)--When I first read the headline, I had trouble believing it was true. “Surely this must be a tabloid tale,” I muttered to myself. Perhaps it was just a hoax or even an early April Fool’s joke.

Instead, I was reading FoxNews.com and the report was very real. “12-Year-Old Boy Becomes 14-Year-Old Girl, World’s Youngest Sex Change Patient,” stated the headline.

According to a variety of reports, a 12-year-old boy convinced his parents that he was a girl trapped in a boy's body -- a condition the boy maintains he became aware of when he was two.

The family consulted with psychiatrists throughout Germany. Some doctors not only rejected the idea of sex reassignment surgery for a 12-year-old, they condemned it. Others suggested the boy be admitted to a psychiatric ward for observation. Eventually, the London Daily Telegraph reported, the boy found a group of psychiatrists that agreed the “child should receive therapy, because growing up like a man would have damaged her [sic] personality.”

The boy, now 14, began undergoing hormone therapy when he was 12. The bright spot in this story, if there is one, is that it will be four years before he can undergo the surgical procedure that will alter his genitalia. German law will not allow sex reassignment surgery to be performed on anyone under the age of 18. To date, the boy’s treatment has cost $40,000. The entire tab is being picked up by German taxpayers.

It would appear in our society where the victim mentality runs rampant we have a tendency to dismiss all our foibles and fallacies on forces beyond our control. It is true that there are forces at work in our lives we may not be aware of but that does not excuse us when we behave badly.

Accepting the fact that we are LOST without hope without a savior is the first step in living rightly in an mixed-up world.

Turn towards Christ and away from sin and you shall live.

Currently, there are two dominant explanations for homosexual attractions, with evangelicals more likely to believe environment, particularly family dynamics is key, whereas, those outside the church more frequently lean toward the belief that homosexuality in innate.

It is unfortunate in this sound bite culture that advocates take sides at all about a scientific matter where there really are no sides. I have a hard time understanding why evangelicals fear biological or pre-natal factors playing a role in our sexuality. Such factors play a role in almost everything us about what it means to be human. Why not about sex?

At the same time we resist biological reductionism, we should also question psychological reductionism. Reducing the cause of homosexual attractions for all people to a poor relationship with one’s parents or to any singular factor is to make the same mistake as those who are stuck on the innate view. We are more complex than that.

The extreme views inside and outside the church mask the fact that no one knows for sure why homosexual attractions occur for any given individual. There is evidence that supports the operation of both environmental and pre-natal factors, perhaps in different ways for different people. Furthermore, men and women are quite different. And almost everybody who studies this topic agrees we have no consensus.

It seems to me that whatever we learn about the causes of sexual attractions, we are still subject to the same sexual ethic. The cause question can obscure the more fundamental task of deciding how one should live no matter what causes same-sex attraction. I submit that whether one is born gay or is socialized to become gay, (or some combination of both factors), one still must make a value based decision about how one wants to live.

PHOENIX — A charter school alerted authorities to a 29-year-old sex offender who tried to enroll there, pretending he was just 12, in what sheriff's officials said Friday may have been an attempt to lure children into sexual abuse.

The Yavapai County sheriff's office also said Neil Havens Rodreick II conned two men he was living with and having sex with into believing he was a young boy. One of them, 61-year-old Lonnie Stiffler, called himself Rodreick's grandfather when he tried to enroll him at Mingus Springs Charter School as "Casey Price."

Officials at the charter school in Chino Valley, about 90 miles northwest of Phoenix, told deputies that papers the "grandfather" presented appeared to be fake and that "boy" looked much older than 12.

'Very upset'
Stiffler and Robert James Snow, 43, "were very upset when the detectives told them they had been having a sexual relationship with a 29-year-old man and not a pre-teen boy," Quayle said.
