Of 53 girls believed to be between 14 and 17, more than 30 have children or are pregnant, including one who gave birth to her second child in custody. Among the boys, too, there is suspicion of widespread physical abuse. Indeed, many teenage boys are routinely banished to preserve the odds of polygamy.

Nevertheless, what do we make of an entire sect that has sexual abuse at its very heart? That believes plural "marriages" between older men and underage women are not an aberration but a pathway to heaven?

Nobody can prosecute the FLDS for what they believe, says Marci Hamilton, author of God vs. the Gavel. "They can stay together and believe what they want into eternity. What they can't do is illegal action."

In the end, what we have on that ranch in Eldorado is not a lifestyle. It's a pedophile ring.

Morning Edition, May 23, 2008 · A Texas appeals court ruled Thursday that the state had no right to take more than 400 children from a polygamist ranch. The court conceded that some underage teens may have been sexually abused, but that the state did not prove that all the removals of children from their parents were justified.

Child welfare officials said they were mystified by the appeals court's ruling, saying that the department had "removed children from the Yearning for Zion Ranch after finding a pervasive pattern of sexual abuse."

Child welfare officials who visited the ranch "revealed a pattern of underage girls being 'spiritually united' with older men and having children with the men," the agency said.

Here is just another example of a society drunk on its own foolishness disregarding the obvious in favor of an anti-Christian value system. Regardless of the ill effects a public policy may have on our society those who set such policy refuse to acknowledge the failure of such policies. Their reasoning would appear to be anything but Judeo Christian values. Even though those same values, when enacted, lead to a better society they still refuse to acknowledge its benefits. Our own national history is riddled with glaring examples of the benefits of leading a Godly life in society. Yet in today's culture being "Christian" is politically incorrect and thusly forbidden.

So spare the rod and drug your kids has become the acceptable manner in which we discipline our children. Excuse me but I think a good swat on the buttocks works better and swifter then Prozac. But what do I know?

MIAMI (AP) — A jury decided Wednesday that a convicted sex offender should get the death penalty for the kidnapping, rape and murder of 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford, who was buried alive in trash bags just yards from her home.

The jury, on a 10-2 vote, brushed aside pleas for mercy and a life sentence from defense lawyers based on claims that John Evander Couey, 48, is mentally retarded and suffers from chronic mental illness. Jurors deliberated for about one hour.

Couey, 48, was convicted last week of taking Jessica in February 2005 from her bedroom to his trailer about 150 yards away, where he raped and killed her. Despite an intensive search, the third-grader's body was found in a grave outside Couey's home, about three weeks after she disappeared.

At the end of January, in Port Huron, Michigan, the Millings family* were minding their own business, homeschooling their children. Suddenly a social worker knocked at the door demanding entry. When the mother refused to let her in, and handed her a piece of paper describing her rights, the social worker crumpled up the paper and said, “I’m not dealing with it.” Then she stated that if she couldn’t come in to examine the children she would get the police. She yelled over the mom’s objections that she wanted to “come in now” and do a strip search of one of the children.

The allegations by the anonymous tipster were absurd. The family was accused of “only allowing their two boys to listen to Christian music.” The tipster said that the children “ate their cheerios dry” and received nearly all their “socialization through their church.” The tipster asserted the children were not in school. Furthermore, the anonymous tipster said the “fourteen- and ten-year-old were seen outside playing without adult supervision” and the mother “pinched and hit her kids in church to keep them quiet.” The last allegation was the reason why the social worker wanted to strip search one of the children.

The Millings were able to get a statement from a local doctor indicating that the children were not abused, and letters from various individuals who vouched for them being good parents.

Unfortunately, the anonymous tipster struck again and made another call. When the social worker renewed her efforts to personally interview and strip search the children, she indicated to Klicka that if she was not allowed to get into the home to do this, she would seek a court order.

Klicka responded with, “You can’t get a court order, because there is no probable cause.” He explained that an anonymous tip does not rise to the level of probable cause and that a court order could not be issued because there was not credible evidence. The social worker closed by saying she would seek a court order by Friday.

However; I have seen and heard a lot of things lately that used to be taboo only to see them becoming more and more mainstream. No one can convince me that this 12 yr old has any clue as to what all this means. This is a case where the parents should be held for felonious assault on their own son. Ahem daughter.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (BP)--When I first read the headline, I had trouble believing it was true. “Surely this must be a tabloid tale,” I muttered to myself. Perhaps it was just a hoax or even an early April Fool’s joke.

Instead, I was reading FoxNews.com and the report was very real. “12-Year-Old Boy Becomes 14-Year-Old Girl, World’s Youngest Sex Change Patient,” stated the headline.

According to a variety of reports, a 12-year-old boy convinced his parents that he was a girl trapped in a boy's body -- a condition the boy maintains he became aware of when he was two.

The family consulted with psychiatrists throughout Germany. Some doctors not only rejected the idea of sex reassignment surgery for a 12-year-old, they condemned it. Others suggested the boy be admitted to a psychiatric ward for observation. Eventually, the London Daily Telegraph reported, the boy found a group of psychiatrists that agreed the “child should receive therapy, because growing up like a man would have damaged her [sic] personality.”

The boy, now 14, began undergoing hormone therapy when he was 12. The bright spot in this story, if there is one, is that it will be four years before he can undergo the surgical procedure that will alter his genitalia. German law will not allow sex reassignment surgery to be performed on anyone under the age of 18. To date, the boy’s treatment has cost $40,000. The entire tab is being picked up by German taxpayers.

PHOENIX — A charter school alerted authorities to a 29-year-old sex offender who tried to enroll there, pretending he was just 12, in what sheriff's officials said Friday may have been an attempt to lure children into sexual abuse.

The Yavapai County sheriff's office also said Neil Havens Rodreick II conned two men he was living with and having sex with into believing he was a young boy. One of them, 61-year-old Lonnie Stiffler, called himself Rodreick's grandfather when he tried to enroll him at Mingus Springs Charter School as "Casey Price."

Officials at the charter school in Chino Valley, about 90 miles northwest of Phoenix, told deputies that papers the "grandfather" presented appeared to be fake and that "boy" looked much older than 12.

'Very upset'
Stiffler and Robert James Snow, 43, "were very upset when the detectives told them they had been having a sexual relationship with a 29-year-old man and not a pre-teen boy," Quayle said.

Appeals Court: 10-Year Sentence Too Light for Woman Who Rented Daughter to Pedophile

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A federal appeals court tossed out the 10-year prison sentence of a St. Louis, Mo., woman who rented her 9-year-old daughter out to a pedophile more than 200 times at $20 a session.

The court said the woman's punishment was too lenient. But until a court decides otherwise, the woman still faces a 10-year prison term.

The woman, whose name is being withheld to protect her daughter's identity, often held the girl down in their home while Joe J. Champion of Granite City, Ill., molested her, according to court documents. The daughter testified the molestation occurred about twice a week, either in the bathroom or her mother's bedroom.

The woman was typically paid $20 by Champion each time she allowed her daughter to be abused by him.

The abuse began when the daughter was nine and continued for two years, both the daughter and Champion testified, according to court documents.

The woman who married a suspect in the killing of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey says she was abused by John Karr as a 13-year-old bride.

Quientana Ray made the allegations Wednesday on ABC's Good Morning America, when she said Karr at a party in Alabama when she was 12 and he was 19. She said he seduced her, and against her parents' wishes, they eventually married.

"I was drugged and things were done to me without me having any idea," said Ray, adding Karr frequently talked about his fantasies about young girls.

Their marriage was annulled within a year, she said. Karr later married a 16-year-old.

Karr, a 41-year-old school teacher, is in jail in Los Angeles awaiting extradition to Boulder, Colo., to face charges of killing the 6-year-old glamour queen contestant in the basement of her home in 1996. He returned to the United States voluntarily on the weekend from Thailand, where he was being investigated for involvement in child pornography.
