The American Civil Liberties Union is asking the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to tell private citizens how and what they can pray before meetings of the Cobb County, Georgia, Board of Commissioners.

The ACLU actually suggested to the court that Cobb County officials be ordered to send letters to invited clergy telling them "not to invoke religious messages" in their opening prayers and the commissioners' meetings.

This is religious bigotry; it's anti-free speech; it's everything that they're supposed to be against. The idea that the ACLU would want the government to tell people how they should or should not pray is outrageous."

America is sitting on top of a super massive 200 billion barrel Oil Field that could potentially make America Energy Independent and until now has largely gone unnoticed.

With new horizontal drilling technology it is believed that from 175 to 500 billion barrels of recoverable oil are held in this 200,000 square mile reserve that was initially discovered in 1951. The USGS did an initial study back in 1999 that estimated 400 billion recoverable barrels were present but with prices bottoming out at $10 a barrel back then the report was dismissed because of the higher cost of horizontal drilling techniques that would be needed, estimated at $20-$40 a barrel.

EOG Resources of Texas started a frenzy when they drilled a single well in Parshal N.D. that is expected to yield 700,000 barrels of oil that real excitement and money started to flow in North Dakota.

is expected to be one of the greatest booms in Oil discovery since Oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938.

Barack Obama’s new campaign plane is nothing short of grand. Well, for the candidate that is.

Obama’s section of the plane rivals that of any first class. Recently the front cabin of the Boeing 757 was retrofitted to install four individual chairs that resemble La-Z-Boys. They are free-standing and made of plush leather with pockets on the sides. There is also a booth which seats four for a meeting or a meal.

His chair has his name and campaign logo embroidered on the back top -- “Obama ‘08” on one line and “President” underneath. To one side is a small table stacked with newspapers ready for the candidate’s arrival. The table of the booth is always covered in snacks and cheese and is where Obama spends most of his time during flights meeting with staff and sitting for the occasional interview.

After looking at a few photos of Obama’s cabin, Allen quipped, “Air Force One may seem a tad claustrophobic.” Check it out for yourself:

Redefining Marriage a form of 'Soft Despotism' according to author

But as an artificial creation of the state, same-sex "marriage" is "an institution that needs to be coddled . . . Its very fragility demands a culture in which it is protected." This means, as Sugrue argues, that "once marriage becomes a statist institution for the sake of consenting adults, the state will increasingly be called upon to create the social conditions to protect these unions."

The need for coddling means the state will use public education for this end, and align itself against churches that refuse to recognize same-sex "marriage."

State-ordered gay "marriage" is an attack, not only on legitimate marriage, but upon religious freedom and the freedom not to have one's children indoctrinated into alien ideas about marriage.

In Michigan, a homosexual man is suing two Christian publishers—Zondervan and Tyndale House—for $70 million dollars. Bradley Fowler claims they violated his constitutional rights and caused him "emotional distress" by publishing versions of the Bible that call homosexuality a sin.

As Seana Sugrue explains in The Meaning of Marriage,

marriage is a pre-political institution, rooted in biology and moral obligations. Sugrue writes, "The reality of sex differences between men and women, leading to the potential for offspring, is essential to the pre-political foundation of marriage."

But marriage as a political form of social order, independent of the state, "is precisely what advocates of same-sex 'marriage' seek to change," according to Sugrue. "Marriage rooted in procreation and sexual differences is to be replaced by marriage for the gratification of two consenting adults."

But unlike traditional marriage, "same-sex 'marriage' requires a condition of soft despotism to exist," Sugrue warns.

Propane Viable Alternate Fuel Option for School Districts

clipper's remarks: I would love to be able to take my 20 lb propane tank off my grill and put it on back of the lawn tractor to mow the lawn and then take it into the house to cook dinner and afterward attach to the vehicle in the garage and drive to the walmart for a refill.

With diesel prices in record territory, many schools are desperately seeking ways to deal with their exploding transportation budgets. One solution being offered is propane-powered buses.

Roy Willis, president and CEO of the Propane Education & Research Council, says schools that switch to propane-powered buses will see huge savings in their transportation budgets. He explains that a federal tax incentive used to promote the use of alternative fuels provides a 50-cent-per-gallon relief when using propane. On top of that, he states that just switching from diesel to propane will save schools roughly 50 percent in fuel costs, and 40 percent if switching from gasoline to propane.

Aside from the monetary benefits, Willis states that propane is mostly manufactured within the United States -- which, he notes, provides a stable market for the fuel. And research is also ongoing to find renewable ways to produce the alternative fuel.

(CNSNews.com) - The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and the Lathrup Village (Mich.) Police Department are investigating the contents of a dumpster behind the WomanCare abortion clinic where body parts of aborted babies, bio-hazardous materials and patients'medical records were found earlier this month.

"I was aware of the reality of abortion, but it was unnerving," Police Sgt. Vincent Lynch said of viewing the evidence, adding that "intact fetuses" were among the debris.

At least one patient died - a 15-year-old girl in 2004 - following an abortion at one of Hodari's clinics, but no criminal charges were filed.

Because this kind of disposal is not considered criminal, Hodari could receive a warning or be fined, depending on the results of the investigation, McCann said.

clipper's remarks: This is just another example of a man-made god. Taking the parts we like from all religious practices and mixing them together to form a hodgepodge of beliefs that Jesus warned against. Jesus declared unashamedly that he was the way the truth and the life not just one of many.

Man loves to remake God into their own image, changing the absolute rightness of God for a rightness that suits each individual. The salad bar analogy works good here because the tendency of people is to take what they like and leave what they do not like. Most times it is the food that is best for us that we leave on the salad bar.

Religion today in the USA is a salad bar where people heap on upbeat beliefs they like and often leave the veggies — like strict doctrines — behind.

There are so many ways of seeing God, public policy expert Barry Kosmin says, that "the highest authority is now the lowest common denominator."

"Americans believe in everything. It's a spiritual salad bar," says Rice University sociologist Michael Lindsay. Rather than religious leaders setting the cultural agenda, today, it's Oprah Winfrey, he says.

"The impact of Oprah is seen throughout this survey. She uses the language of Bible and Christian traditions and yet includes other traditions to create a hodgepodge personalized faith. Exclusivism (one religion has the absolute and exclusive truth) has gotten a bad name in America today," he says.

More United Methodists are throwing their support behind clergy in California who want to perform same-sex "marriages" despite the denomination's stance that homosexual practice is "incompatible with Christian teaching."

On Thursday, delegates from the Northeastern Jurisdiction Conference of the United Methodist Church - from Maine south to West Virginia - approved a resolution expressing respect for clergy in the California regional bodies who participate in wedding same-sex couples "as a matter of Christian conscience, spiritual discernment and prophetic witnessing," as reported by the United Methodist News Service.

In April, measures that would have removed the ban on noncelibate gay pastors and the statement that homosexual practice is "incompatible with Christian teaching" were voted down after emotional debates.

In the following months, however, regional conferences have approved measures supporting homosexuals after the California Supreme Court legalized gay "marriage" on May 15.

Senator Jim DeMint says many Christians and their pastors are afraid to state their moral convictions about abortion, homosexuality, pornography, and other issues.

The South Carolina Republican is co-author of a new book titled Why We Whisper – Restoring Our Right To Say It's Wrong. DeMint blames government, and courts in particular, for turning wrongs into rights and barring religious views from public debate. Government rulings, he argues, have changed American culture.

"Before the 1960s, it was pretty clear that abortion was wrong, that sex outside of marriage was wrong, that unwed birth was wrong, and pornography, homosexuality – all this was considered wrong by the society," DeMint contends. "But government came in and turned right and wrong upside down."

DeMint says religious appeals have essentially been barred from public debate.

DeMint adds. "But the government essentially said that religion must be separated from public life.

Revivalist stirring controversy

clipper's remarks: The bible clearly states that when Jesus walked the earth he healed many of "every affliction". The early disciples have recorded in the bible of people who where healed and raised from the dead. Therefore it is or at least was a ministry preformed by both Jesus and his early disciples.

The main focus of Jesus' ministry as well as the early disciples was the 'preaching of the kingdom of God' and not the ministry of healing. Healing came as a result of seeking Jesus or the kingdom of God.

Like this article states Jesus did warn of many false prophets who would arise preforming miracles in attempts to mislead and deceive.

It was interesting to read in this article that of all the people who were reportedly healed at this 'revival' Mr Bentley only produced a list of 15 people who could verify such healing. And yet thousands have attended the revival.

Personally I believe God can heal anyone if He chooses to but the bible says 'Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousne

LAKELAND, Fla. - Todd Bentley believes God acts through him to cure cancer, heal the deaf and raise the dead.

So do hundreds of thousands of people who have visited his raucous revival meeting, now in its third month and broadcast nightly from a huge tent in the middle of Florida.

The 32-year-old Canadian, tattooed to the fingers and neck, puts a palm to the forehead of the sick, desperate and faithful. Bentley yells "Bam!" they collapse and he proclaims them cured. Attendees dance in the aisles, shout to Heaven, laugh, shake violently and cry.

Christian critics say he rarely opens a Bible or sermonizes about Jesus Christ. They worry he is too little about conversion, too heavy on his own hype and too focused on self-proclaimed miracles.

The executive director of the Presbyterian Lay Committee says the recent meeting of the Presbyterian Church (USA) highlighted a disregard for historic Reformed standards and a failure to glorify Jesus Christ.

During its recent meeting in San Jose, California, the highest governing body of the PCUSA voted in favor of a proposal that would allow for the ordination of non-celibate homosexual men and women. The General Assembly also initiated a process to revise the Heidelberg Catechism to delete the Bible's prohibition against homosexuality.

"Some churches are looking to withhold per capita giving from the denomination, essentially refusing to fund any denominational activities, and are redirecting their giving to missions [with] which they are familiar and which they trust," Burge explains. Unless the PCUSA reverses course, he says, it is in danger of extinction.

A spokesman for McDonald's restaurants says those who oppose same-sex "marriage" are motivated by hate.

Earlier this month, the American Family Association (AFA) called for a boycott of the hamburger giant because of the company's promotion of the homosexual agenda. The AFA took issue with McDonald's refusal to remain neutral in the culture war.

McDonald's donated $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, in exchange for membership and a seat on the group's board of directors.

Sinner Sues Bible Manufactor

A homosexual man has filed a $70 million lawsuit against Bible publishers Zondervan and Thomas Nelson, alleging that their version of the Bible that refers to homosexuality as a sin violates his constitutional rights and has caused him emotional distress.

Bradley LaShawn Fowler, an ex-con turned author, filed the federal suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan on Monday, the same day a judge refused to appoint him a lawyer for his suit against Thomas Nelson, The Grand Rapids Press reported.

Fowler, who is representing himself in both cases, claims that Zondervan manipulated Scripture by using the term "homosexuals" in 1 Corinthians 6:9 of their 1982 and 1987 revised edition Bibles. He also contends that the reference to homosexuality were deleted by the publisher in later versions without informing the public.

He alleges that since the older Kings James Version containing the term "homosexuals" is used by his family pastor, he has been outcast by his family.

Oil Shock: When it comes to energy policy, Democrats always talk a good game. But look at their actual record while in control of Congress in the last year and a half. It's been nothing short of disastrous.

Wasn't it two years ago that then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi vowed, if her party took over Congress, to cut energy prices — especially gasoline?

How's that working for you? As the chart below shows, the cost of energy — measured by the price of West Texas Intermediate crude — is up more than 70%.

Ironically, we have plenty of oil — at least 10 billion barrels in Alaska's National Wildlife Reserve, 30 billion or so offshore and a whopping 1.2 trillion in Rocky Mountain oil-shale. But Democrats' extreme green ideology keeps us from drilling for it.

Democrats have focused instead on an insane global warming plan that would cost $1.2 trillion. Subsidies and other breaks for biofuels have helped send food prices soaring.

For this reason if for no other, none of them deserves re-election.

Declaration of Independence from England not God

Dr. Larry Arnn is president of Hillsdale College in Michigan. In a recent article published on TownHall.com, Arnn calls The Declaration of Independence "a most remarkable declaration." He says that it is remarkable to remember that all who supported the document and all who signed the document were committing acts of treason punishable by death. But perhaps most remarkable was the documents four references to God.

"The posture of The Declaration of Independence is an appeal to heaven. And so it's really a beautiful thing if you put the four places that God is mentioned together in the declaration. He's mentioned as the maker of the laws of nature and of nature's God – which makes him a legislator. He's mentioned as the supreme judge of the world – which makes him a judge. He's mentioned as divine providence – which makes him an executive. And he's mentioned as the creator – which is like being a founder," Arnn explains.
