The Little Red Hen

Once upon a time, on a farm in Virginia , there was a little red Republican hen who scratched and scratched diligently about the barnyard until she uncovered quite a few grains of wheat. She called all of her Democrat farm animal neighbors together and said; 'If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?'

Buying into a "greater good"

Many Americans have bought into a greater good sold as “economic equality.” This is the cancer that is bringing freedom’s reign to an end. The quest for political power to rule over the lives of others has driven politicians to seek ever increasing power over what were once private earned resources.

Individual votes have been divided into voting blocs and those blocs are purchased with ideologically driven gifts from the treasury. As Thomas Jefferson pointed out so well, “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” It’s called Democratic Socialism today.

We will learn again...the hard way

Abraham Lincoln said it exactly right! But few Americans care to hear his words…

▪ You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

▪ You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

▪ You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

▪ You cannot build character and courage by taking away men's initiative and independence.

▪ You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.

In the end, the rich will remain rich, even if they have to move their assets to safe havens off-shore, which is already happening. But the rest will no longer be free.

History repeats itself only because people refuse to remember the lessons of their past.

Only one, who lives in bondage, is willing to give everything for freedom. And, so we will learn again...the hard way.

clipper's remarks: There is no doubt that when a first term senator, without a credible achievement, who proved himself incompetent at the mere act of casting a vote as a State Senator, who is the most Leftist member of the Senate and all of Congress, who talks about sacrifice while giving 1% of his windfall salary to charity, who will not talk about his record, agenda, or be "distracted" by questions of his intended policies, who has befriended a terrorist and racist preacher, who has a wife that says there is a "veil of impossibility" in America ( She went to Yale, remember), who is an adherent of Black Lib (marxist) Theology, who never worked in Business or Industry, never managed a company, and never served his country. A man who whips his naive supporters up using tactics, imagery, and organic unity not seen since the early 1930's. The American People are in fact the problem when this is the man that one of the major parties in the US seems to believe is fit to be President of the U.S.

In a national epidemic of individual irresponsibility, it has become a national pastime to accuse politicians of destroying America, but it is the American people who are the real problem.

When the American vote was not for sale, it could not be purchased at any price. When most Americans were real patriots, “a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion” – they were not so easily fooled by promises of free benefits (paid for by others) and snake oil salesmen promising dancing sugar plums from the campaign stage.

Politicians are nothing more than a manifestation of the perceived will of the people. Politicians pander. Most politicians don’t care what they have to promise to purchase your vote, so long as your vote is for sale.

BIOFUELS – A MAN MADE DISASTER

clipper's remarks: BIOFUEL DISASTER_THANK CONGRESS AND GREENIES! Contrary to popular belief, the production of biofuels is extremely unfriendly to the environment. The increased use of fertilizer needed in the growing corn crop has resulted in additional soil and water pollution. The National Academy of Sciences recently reported that the 15% food to fuel mandate will increase the size of the Gulf of Mexico dead zone by 10 to 19% as a result of water pollution caused by fertilizer runoff. The production of ethanol requires copious amounts of water, thereby draining local water tables.

Congress never learns. Manipulating the market with subsidies and taxation can have disastrous, deadly results. If ethanol is such a great product, then it will thrive in the free market. How many people will have to starve before Congress and the do-gooder environmentalist lobby admit that our biofuel policy is a complete disaster and a potential threat to our economy and global stability.

Unless you live as a hermit, you haven’t missed the rapid escalation of food prices caused by shortages in wheat, rice, corn and other grains. In many countries the price of rice has increased 70% since last year. As of February 2008, the cost of bakery flour had tripled from $14.60 per 100 lb bag in 2007 to $48.00 dollars per bag. U.S wheat production is at a 60 year low. Global wheat production is at a 30 year low. There have been riots in Haiti and Indonesia and threatened riots in other countries related to these shortages. So who is to blame? Look no further than Congress, misguided environmentalists and the law of unintended, albeit predictable, consequences.

The U.S. government has adopted a food to fuel mandate that requires biofuels (ethanol and biodiesel) to replace 15% of our domestic fuel production within the next 10 years. That is a five-fold increase to 30 billion gallons of biofuel annually.

Oil Shock: When it comes to energy policy, Democrats always talk a good game. But look at their actual record while in control of Congress in the last year and a half. It's been nothing short of disastrous.

Wasn't it two years ago that then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi vowed, if her party took over Congress, to cut energy prices — especially gasoline?

How's that working for you? As the chart below shows, the cost of energy — measured by the price of West Texas Intermediate crude — is up more than 70%.

Ironically, we have plenty of oil — at least 10 billion barrels in Alaska's National Wildlife Reserve, 30 billion or so offshore and a whopping 1.2 trillion in Rocky Mountain oil-shale. But Democrats' extreme green ideology keeps us from drilling for it.

Democrats have focused instead on an insane global warming plan that would cost $1.2 trillion. Subsidies and other breaks for biofuels have helped send food prices soaring.

For this reason if for no other, none of them deserves re-election.

I can certainly understand why neo-pagans like Al Gore believe, despite overwhelming scientific evidence to the contrary, man-made, catastrophic global warming is the gravest threat to the planet.

What I can't understand is why people who claim to believe in the Bible as the inerrant, inspired Word of God do so.

the Bible explicitly states: "While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."

It means God controls the world's temperature, not man. God controls the climate, not man. God controls the earth's "eco-system," not man. God controls our environment, not man.

It is so presumptuous and haughty of believers and non-believers alike to think man is in control of the destiny of the planet God created for us.

Yes, there will come a time when the Earth is destroyed – and intense heat will be the mechanism God employs.

We're talking about heat so severe it melts the very elements that comprise the Earth.

An amusement park in China has built what it claims is the world's largest penis. The 30ft structure, named Sky Pillar, has been built with 6,500ft of straw and stands atop an altar on 1,250ft Qinlong Hill.

"It is a totem of Shamanistic culture, which originated in this city," says the president of the park, Cheng Weiguang.

Legend says a Shaman hero named Ewenki vanquished a cruel female ruler and gave her a penis totem, telling her to respect males and not kill them at will.

Shi Lixue, director of the China Folk Culture Association, backed the project, saying: "It symbolizes our ancestors' pursuit of happiness and prosperity."

Lawmaker urges condoms for border control

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A congressman is pushing a not-so-quick fix in the debate over illegal immigrants from Mexico: free contraceptives.

"A slower rate of growth of Mexico's population would improve the economy of Mexico. It would also reduce the environmental pressure on Mexico's ecosystem. But a slower rate of growth would also reduce the long-term illegal immigration pressure on America's borders," reasoned Rep. Mark Kirk, who also supports stronger border security in the short-term.
