Obama made a concerted effort to push his post–Bush administration agenda, undermining — in word and deed — current diplomatic efforts in Iraq. Tuesday, the Obama campaign essentially confirmed the details of Taheri’s reporting.

Consider the circumstances of Sen. Obama’s trip to Iraq: Not only did he make his first trip to Iraq in over two years only after much prodding, he also laid out his Iraq plan before his visit. Only someone willing to solidify their plan before meeting with subject-matter experts would have the audacity to then pester and pressure those experts to pursue policies advantageous only to him.

Clip Source: article.nationalreview.com

Taheri’s article is the latest crack in the facade of Sen. A year later, when the Iraq War was looming, Bush offered his major justification by enunciating a doctrine of pre-emptive war. This is the one Charlie Gibson thinks is the Bush doctrine.

It’s not. It’s the third in a series and was superseded by the fourth and current definition of the Bush doctrine, the most sweeping formulation of Bush foreign policy and the one that most distinctively defines it: the idea that the fundamental mission of American foreign policy is to spread democracy throughout the world. It was most dramatically enunciated in Bush’s second inaugural address: “The survival of liberty in our land increasingly depends on the success of liberty in other lands. The best hope for peace in our world is the expansion of freedom in all the world.”

Tags: media bias, politics, election, 2008

<clipSource>http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=OTU5YmYzNjU2MThhOTFiZWNmNjE4MTc5MzY3ZGRkMGY=</clipSource>

Looking Forward to a Lengthy Collaboration

clipped by: DeMaistre

Clip Source: video.google.com

Tags: politics, election, 2008

<clipSource>http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=freedom%27s+defense+fund&emb=0&aq=f</clipSource>

"God Damn America"

clipped by: DeMaistre

Clip Source: video.google.com

Tags: politics, election, 2008

<clipSource>http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=freedom%27s+defense+fund&emb=0&aq=f</clipSource>

More Friends of Obama

clipped by: DeMaistre

Clip Source: article.nationalreview.com

Obama’s high-energy but low-content message of “change” and “hope.” He said that Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick and sitting Micigan governor Jennifer Granholm (D.) “both ran this sort of campaign — we were told to believe, to vote for change. That said, I have little use for either party as they are currently constituted.

Clip Source: insidecatholic.com

When the Catholic apologists for the Democratic Party start to talk about poverty as the primary cause of abortion, they are merely spinning. When they point at the support of some GOP leaders for the death penalty, they are spinning. When they talk about "Bush's War" they are spinning, and when they call the GOP "the party of the rich," they are spinning.

Democrats make all this noise to distract attention from the simple fact (a fact well-documented by former Democratic activist David Carlin in Can a Catholic Be a Democrat?, Sophia Press, 2005) that the animating vision of their party is being supplied by 1960s radicals turned post-modernists. "Marriage is only a social construct" is the kind of thing that tells me all I need to know about Democrats. Their philosophy is simply bad.

What all of these groups have in common, however, is a sensible philosophy and an appreciation, at least, for the contribution of religion to human institutions.
