One Eye Only - Saudi Cleric Calls Eye Exposure Immodest

A Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia has called on women to wear a full veil, or niqab, that reveals only one eye.

Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan said showing both eyes encouraged women to use eye make-up to look seductive.

The niqab is more common in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, but women in much of the Muslim Middle East wear a headscarf which covers only their hair.

Sheikh Habadan, an ultra-conservative cleric who is said to have wide influence among religious Saudis, was answering questions on the Muslim satellite channel al-Majd.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Relatives beat a Malaysian couple to death in a ritual apparently meant to help the man to stop smoking, police said Friday.

The couple died of head injuries after being beaten with broomsticks and motorbike helmets during a family gathering at a Kuala Lumpur home Wednesday, said Ku Chin Wah, head of the city's crime investigations department.

According to those detained, a nephew suggested the beating ritual after the man said he could not stop smoking and the woman complained of a liver ailment, Ku said.

It is not clear who was responsible for the deaths, but local media reported that the nephew convinced all the members of the Muslim family to beat each other.

Barry Beelzebub asks the simple question: if bigamy is illegal in Britain, and it is, then why aren’t Muslim men prosecuted for having more than one wife?

But that’s only the first part of the question, because:

The [Department of Welfare and Pensions] has decreed that the going [welfare] rate is £92.80 a week for hubby and wife one, with a further £33.65 for subsequent wives. They don’t say that the upper limit is four, but I bet that it is.

So how did this happen? When did Parliament decide that sharia law is now applicable in Britain? Who decided to give extreme Muslims immunity from the day-to-day strictures that apply to the rest of us? I must have missed that debate and subsequent vote.

The truth is that there has been no debate and there has been no vote.

This is how Government proceeds apace in subverting our society: not by law, but by regulation.

The Archbishop of Canterbury says the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK "seems unavoidable".

Dr Williams argues that adopting parts of Islamic Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion.

For example, Muslims could choose to have marital disputes or financial matters dealt with in a Sharia court.

He says Muslims should not have to choose between "the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty".

But Dr Williams said an approach to law which simply said "there's one law for everybody and that's all there is to be said, and anything else that commands your loyalty or allegiance is completely irrelevant in the processes of the courts - I think that's a bit of a danger".

"There's a place for finding what would be a constructive accommodation with some aspects of Muslim law, as we already do with some other aspects of religious law."

So we are clear, let's recapitulate. The west are not moral equals to Iran, the Arab world or much of the Islamic world. The west and the US in particular, are superior to Iran, the Arab world and much of the Islamic world. Regimes that oppress their own citizens, abuse women and children, embrace terror, racism and genocide have no place at the table of civilized nations. No exceptions (pay attention. See this).

We deal with those nations because we have to and because it is in our best interest to do so. It also a reality that there are no alternatives. The is the primary role of government- to act in the best interests of her citizens.

Time and time again it has been shown that when the dysfunctional beasts that assume leadership in the Middle East are accorded 'equal' status, they behave in ways that are barbaric. When we cut off the aid, supplies and recognition, they behave in a more civilized manner.

NEW YORK (MNA) – An academic delegation of Columbia University professors and deans of faculties plans to visit Tehran to officially apologize to Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.

The delegation plans to express regret for the insulting remarks Columbia University President Lee Bollinger directed at Ahmadinejad on September 24 in his introductory speech, the Mehr News Agency correspondent in New York reported.

Since the incident, the deans and professors from the faculties of history, anthropology, Middle Eastern studies, philosophy, and Islamic studies have criticized Bollinger’s behavior toward Ahmadinejad.

A member of the delegation, who requested anonymity, said the main goal of the visit is to meet the Iranian president and officially apologize to him.

She was arrested and faced a punishment of 100 lashes. The sentence was later reduced to 40 lashes when it was revealed that she had never been raped. The sentence was reduced even further after the trial - 15 days in jail and permanent barring from FAO Schwartz, Khartoum.

The teddy bear, however, was ceremonially beheaded live on Al Jazeera this afternoon. Angry crowds then dragged him from his cell and hung him from a construction crane, where he was disemboweled, dismembered, and burned alive as prescribed by the Holy Quran.

She may be British, but in the eyes of the world Leeza Gibbons is the ugliest American of them all.

In 2006, a whopping 66% of religiously motivated attacks were on Jews, while just 11% targeted Muslims, even though the Jewish and Muslim populations are similar in size. Catholics and Protestants, who together account for 9% of victims, are subject to almost as much abuse as Muslims in this country.

But if you peel them back, you find they're mostly victimless crimes. For instance, in its 2006 report released in June, CAIR listed as a "hate crime" the following example: "A copy of the Quran was found in a toilet at the library of Pace University in New York." There are other atrocities, too, such as someone trampling on a "flower bed" at a mosque in Texas.

CAIR should spend more time condemning the real threat from Islamic terrorists, not American vigilantes.

I am not her, she is not my problem.

Once I was part of a movement dedicated to stamping out injustice against all women.
But times have changed.
Now all I care about is preserving legalized abortion.
I can–and will–remain silent about everything else.

Malaysia's Muslim men are suffering sleepless nights and cannot pray properly because their thoughts are distracted by a growing number of women who wear sexy clothes in public, a prominent cleric said.

"We always [hear about] the abuse of children and wives in households, which is easily perceived by the eye, but the emotional abuse of men cannot be seen," Nik Abdul Aziz said. "Our prayers become unfocused and our sleep is often disturbed."

His party's Web site published an illustration Wednesday of how women should dress — in long, flowing headscarves covering their hair and chests and "baggy and loose" long-sleeved, floor-length dresses.

Some Muslim medical students are refusing to attend lectures or answer exam questions on alcohol-related or sexually transmitted diseases because they claim it offends their religious beliefs.

Some trainee doctors say learning to treat the diseases conflicts with their faith, which states that Muslims should not drink alcohol and rejects sexual promiscuity.

A small number of Muslim medical students have even refused to treat patients of the opposite sex. One male student was prepared to fail his final exams rather than carry out a basic examination of a female patient.
