Hippie Punching

If there's one thing I've realized over the past few years is that hippies are not being punched quite enough, and I think the recent incident with Berkeley and the Marines shows the problem of not enough hippie punching.

So what has led to this dearth in hippie punching? Breakdown in family structure? Loss of prayer in school? Increasing childhood obesity? Prevalence of non-violent videogames? Whatever the reason, I think we need to spend more time telling the next generation the importance of striking hippies in the face with a fist. No functional society has survived hippies running around unpunched, and America will be similarly doomed if we don't change our ways.

Our military is overseas killing terrorists -- the violent form of the hippie -- so they can't be here punching hippies for us. We have to do that ourselves.

Malaysia's Muslim men are suffering sleepless nights and cannot pray properly because their thoughts are distracted by a growing number of women who wear sexy clothes in public, a prominent cleric said.

"We always [hear about] the abuse of children and wives in households, which is easily perceived by the eye, but the emotional abuse of men cannot be seen," Nik Abdul Aziz said. "Our prayers become unfocused and our sleep is often disturbed."

His party's Web site published an illustration Wednesday of how women should dress — in long, flowing headscarves covering their hair and chests and "baggy and loose" long-sleeved, floor-length dresses.

Barry Beelzebub asks the simple question: if bigamy is illegal in Britain, and it is, then why aren’t Muslim men prosecuted for having more than one wife?

But that’s only the first part of the question, because:

The [Department of Welfare and Pensions] has decreed that the going [welfare] rate is £92.80 a week for hubby and wife one, with a further £33.65 for subsequent wives. They don’t say that the upper limit is four, but I bet that it is.

So how did this happen? When did Parliament decide that sharia law is now applicable in Britain? Who decided to give extreme Muslims immunity from the day-to-day strictures that apply to the rest of us? I must have missed that debate and subsequent vote.

The truth is that there has been no debate and there has been no vote.

This is how Government proceeds apace in subverting our society: not by law, but by regulation.

Israel's Mossad spy agency estimates Iran will develop a nuclear weapon within three years and continue to provide rockets to regional armed groups, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Dagan's estimate of Iran's nuclear ambitions differs sharply from an assessment by the US intelligence community late last year that said Iran had mothballed its nuclear weapons programme in 2003.

In Monday's report, Dagan also predicted that Tehran would continue to supply more and better rockets and training to Palestinian militant groups in the Gaza Strip.

"Syria is improving its surface-to-surface missile system and today the quantity of missiles and rockets is twice as large as two years ago," Dagan said, according to Maariv.

Israel has long perceived Iran as its greatest threat, especially after Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadinejad relaunched its nuclear enrichment programme and repeatedly predicted the demise of the Jewish state.

Suzuki underlined the importance of looking backward by explaining that, because the past 50 years have seen a boom in technology and population expansion, ideas of economic growth have been skewed.

“That means you have lived your entire lives in a completely unsustainable period,” Suzuki said to the young audience. “You all think [economic] growth and change is normal. It’s not.”

He urged today’s youth to speak out against politicians complicit in climate change, even suggesting they look for a legal way to throw our current political leaders in jail for ignoring science – drawing rounds of cheering and applause. Suzuki said that politicians, who never see beyond the next election, are committing a criminal act by ignoring science.

Israel was getting about one suicide bombing per day.

Then they start building a separation barrier, and while the world kvetched and moaned about how terrible this was, the number of suicide bombers and other attacks dropped to almost nothing.

Ayman Taha, a spokesman for Hamas, the terrorist organization popularly elected by the Palestinians, praised the bombing as a “glorious act.”

So, just to make sure we’re clear, walking up to unarmed, unsuspecting civilians and blowing them up is “glorious.”

It is so “glorious” in fact that in Gaza, gunmen fired in the air and relatives of the bombers passed out sweets to celebrate the murders, according to the Associated Press.

This was the same reaction much of the Palestinian populous had right after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. They showed the celebration on the TV news for about a minute before it vanished forever into the mist of political expediency.

The Archbishop of Canterbury says the adoption of certain aspects of Sharia law in the UK "seems unavoidable".

Dr Williams argues that adopting parts of Islamic Sharia law would help maintain social cohesion.

For example, Muslims could choose to have marital disputes or financial matters dealt with in a Sharia court.

He says Muslims should not have to choose between "the stark alternatives of cultural loyalty or state loyalty".

But Dr Williams said an approach to law which simply said "there's one law for everybody and that's all there is to be said, and anything else that commands your loyalty or allegiance is completely irrelevant in the processes of the courts - I think that's a bit of a danger".

"There's a place for finding what would be a constructive accommodation with some aspects of Muslim law, as we already do with some other aspects of religious law."

Arnold Schwarzenegger's "universal" health-care plan died in the California legislature on Monday, in what can only be called a mercy killing.

Like collapses in Illinois, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, this one crumpled because of the costs, which are always much higher than anticipated.

This reveals that liberal health-care politics is increasingly the art of the impossible: You can't make coverage "universal" while at the same time keeping costs in check -- at least without prohibitive tax increases. Lowering cost and increasing access, in other words, are separate and irreconcilable issues.

So the plan failed because it was too expensive -- and because for some Democrats it wasn't expensive enough.

Democrats also complained that the taxes the plan imposed on business, as high as 6.5% of payroll, weren't high enough.

Voters are rightly concerned about health care, but they also don't want to pay higher taxes to finance coverage for everyone.

* Resist urge to urinate on the crowd. Standing above so many conservatives, I know it will be hard for you to not just unzip your fly and piss all over them, but you'll have to try. It may seem right and natural to you do so, but it won't go over well.

* Call for a bombing run on Berkeley until they admit the military is awesome. Conservatives would like a nice local war. Plus, if in the end we decide to pull out of Berkeley and never go back, that's cool too.

* State that Fred Thompson will be your VP and vow not to live long. That would be awesome. I bet it would get a standing ovation at CPAC.

* Hand out free candy. Pretty self-explanatory. Conservatives will say, "McCain may be against us on many issues, but he's the only candidate who gave me candy!"

* One word: Yubitsume. It's a Japanese ritual of cutting off a part of your pinky finger in an act of apology. Will seem sincere.

And our favorite 9th circuit court in San Francisco rules that the Navy is not exempt from the Environmental Act that prohibits the use of sonar in the area. Even after the president signed an executive order to exempt the Navy from the act. In other words, any enemy submarine like, you know, Iranian, North Korean, Chinese, Russian, etc, etc, etc could set in this 12 mile area (which is huge in terms of sea searches) waiting to bomb the crud out of the United States and the Navy is prohibited from using sonar to detect them in that space in order to protect the whales.

20% of UK Teens Believe Churchill Was Fictional

A fifth of British teenagers believe Sir Winston Churchill was a fictional character, while many think Sherlock Holmes, King Arthur and Eleanor Rigby were real, a survey shows.

Despite his celebrated military reputation, 47 per cent of respondents dismissed the 12th-century crusading English king Richard the Lionheart as fictional.

King Arthur is the mythical figure most commonly mistaken for fact - almost two thirds of teens (65 per cent) believe that he existed and led a round table of knights at Camelot.

Sherlock Holmes, the detective, was so convincingly brought to life in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novels, their film versions and television series, that 58 per cent of respondents believe that the sleuth really lived at 221B Baker Street.

Fifty-one per cent of respondents believed that Robin Hood lived in Sherwood Forest, robbing the rich to give to the poor, while 47 per cent believed Eleanor Rigby was a real person rather than a creation of The Beatles.
