According to researchers in Harvard Medical School, Happines is infectious and can ripple through society into social groups. If for instance you have a friend who has health and happiness and they live less than a mile away, then this can increase the likelihood of you feeling the ripple effect by 25%. Third UPDATE: (10:26 a.m.) Part of the complaint focuses on alleged insider information provided by Cutillo to another defendant about deals in which Ropes & Gray was a legal advisor, including the acquisition of Axcan Pharma Inc. by TPG Capital in November 2007; Silver Lake and TPG’s purchase of Avaya Inc. in June of that year, and Bain Capital Partners’ acquisition of 3Com in September of that year.

The arrests follow criminal charges last month against Raj Rajaratnam, founder of hedge-fund Galleon Group, and five others in a $20 million insider-trading case. The New York office of the FBI said the individuals were primarily taken into custody in New York. One person was arrested in New Jersey and one person was arrested in Connecticut.

A spokesman for Ropes & Gray declined to comment.

Yankees parade will be 11 a.m. on Friday

New York City will celebrate the Yankees' 27th World Series title with a parade Friday, following the traditional route up Broadway that long-time Yankees Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera know well.

The parade will kick off at 11:00 a.m. from Battery Park, go up the 'Canyon of Heroes' north to Chambers Street, and finish with a rally at City Hall Plaza.

Hurricane Ida pummels Nicaragua east coast

MANAGUA (Reuters) - Hurricane Ida slammed into Nicaragua's Caribbean coast on Thursday after dumping heavy rain on little-developed offshore islands where hundreds of people were evacuated from flimsy homes.

At 10 a.m. EST (1500 GMT) Ida was located about 75 miles north of the port of Bluefields, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said, pounding the remote Miskito coast region with near 75 mph winds.

"They are without power, all the electric lines are down, there are trees on the roads and no running water," Perez-Cassar told local television.

Nearly 2,000 people in the Corn Islands and Sandy Bay were evacuated to shelters. "We are expecting serious impact on infrastructure," Perez-Cassar said.

The Secret to a Nervous Disposition.

Anxiety can be a debilitating illness.

So what causes anxiety?

Are Anxiety and fear two sides of the same coin?

According to university students at Wisconsin, some people are born with a nervous disposition.

The research consisted of a study of rhesus monkeys, chosen because they represent a brain that is very similar to that of adolescent human. the most anxious exhibited clear signs of increased anxiety activity within one particular part of the brain even when not in a stressful environment. The students say their findings show that their is a need for therapeutic intervention at a young age.

I have put together some entertaining videos for your enjoyment. The first one is quite a long video but be patient there is a lot of interesting information regarding anxiety and attachment disorders.

Who knew Lady Gaga was weird enough to kill?

Lady Gaga stepped onto the red carpet on Monday night at the ACE awards sporting a widow-esque black veil, and minutes later, celebrity photographer A.J. Sokalner was dead. Sokalner was working the red carpet at the ACE Awards that the ‘Poker Face’ singer was attending in New York City when he collapsed just minutes after Gaga took to the carpet. He was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital shortly after, and the owner of ACE Pictures, who Sokalner worked for, says emergency workers said he had suffered a heart attack. He was only in his late 50s.

Second time 50-year-old caught having sex with the same animal

CONWAY, S.C. - A man caught having sex with a horse in a South Carolina stable has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Multiple media outlets report that Rodell Vereen was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to buggery. A judge also ordered Vereen to get counseling and stay away from the Lazy B stables when he's released.

Authorities charged Vereen, 50, after a woman set up a surveillance camera and caught him on tape having sex with her horse in July. Horse owner Barbara Kenley said she had noticed her 21-year-old horse Sugar was acting strangely. She also noticed things had been moved around near the horse's stall at her stables in Longs, about 20 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach.

She said she staked out the stable and caught Vereen sneaking into the barn days later, holding him at shotgun point until police arrived.

Challenging Perception and Assumptions Phenomenologically

Phenomenology is the science of phenomenon. A phenomenon is a perception or experience without clarification or explanation.

So if leaving behind our assumptions, knowledge and analysis, will this endeavour to improve our empathy toward our patients?

Quite often our thoughts are automatic responses to our previous experiences, thus tainting a new and some what uncharted area. Our perceptions shape our own world and not that of others.

As therapists we encourage patients to challenge old beliefs and create new ones. So does it not make sense to continually challenge our perceptions and beliefs in relation to others?

In the words of ‘Yalom’ – Should we “both be fellow travelers neither knowing the path”?

So what significance do Witches have with Halloween?

Witches believe that Halloween is a time of the endings of relationships and bad situations and it is the time when one can see the glimmer of hope in the future. There are as many concepts attached to this holiday as any other, truly a time of remembrance of our ancestors and all those who have gone before.

So do Witches really exist?

After the traditional ritual, all of them were labelled as ’sinful women’ or ‘devil women’, and were then brought out to an isolated location in the surroundings of Seya village. They were forcibly segregated from their husbands and children, and forced to reside in the jungle where they lacked basic facilities for day-to-day living. Many of the women have reportedly suffered from malnutrition, mental health issues and are in urgent need of help and support.

In theory it’s a new AX. Small, light, simple, practical, economical and fun.

But car makers can’t make a car like that any more. Laws don’t let them. So underneath its cute little body the C2 has had to become a lot more sophisticated.

And here's something you don't expect in a base version. It wasn't on the spec sheet. But on the dash there's a convenient button that allows you to set a speed warning. Exceed the pre-set speed and you get beeped. So no excuses and no need to constantly watch the speed rather than the road when driving through a restricted area.

When the time came to part I actually felt some affection for this cute little car. If I had to, I could live with it and enjoy its company immensely. I can imagine quite a few wealthy parents indulging their 17 year old offspring with a C2, then borrowing it more often than they ever expected.
