A 13 year old from Texas who stole his Dad's credit card and ordered two hookers from an escort agency, has today been convicted of fraud and given a three year community order.

Ralph Hardy, a 13 year old from Newark, Texas confessed to ordering an extra credit card from his father's existing credit card company, and took his friends on a $30,000 spending spree, culminating in playing "Halo" on an Xbox with a couple of hookers in a Texas motel.

The escort girls who were released without charge, told the arresting officers something was up when the kids said they would rather play Xbox than get down to business.

When police arrived at the motel they found $3,000 in cash, numerous electronic gadgets, an Xbox video console with numerous games, and the two local escort girls.

Amy Winehouse has been arrested on assault charges. British authorities have not yet confirmed that Winehouse has been arrested but, there are pictures of her entering the London police station. Winehouse assaulted two men early Wednesday morning while hanging out at bar in Camden. One man claims that Amy hit him after he got in her way and the other man says that he was head-butted by Amy when he tried to hail her cab. This isn’t her first run in with the law and I doubt it will be her last. She has been arrested for trying to interfere with her husband’s court case and on drug possession charges. Amy Winehouse has had some good fights in the past and from the look of these pictures she is capable of doing some damage. If her singing doesn’t work out for her she can always take up a career as a MMA fighter.

Italian and US police have nabbed more than 50 organised crime suspects in New York and Naples, saying they had established vital links between Cosa Nostra families on both sides of the Atlantic.

The morning raids today in New York represented one of the largest sweeps against the New York mafia ever, with more than 50 suspects detained.

Much of the focus was on the Gambino family, whose members were charged with seven murders, blackmail, criminal dealings and illegal gaming, New York State's Attorney Andrew Cuomo said at a press conference in New York.

Italian Interior Minister Giuliano Amato congratulated police for what he said was an "extraordinary operation" which had dealt "a major blow" to organised crime.

AUSTRALIAN actor Heath Ledger has been found dead at a downtown Manhattan residence in what authorities say is a possible drug-related death, the New York Police Department said. Police said Ledger was naked in his bed with an unknown number of pills nearby.

A housekeeper and masseuse found the actor, the father of two-year-old Matilda Rose, at 3.30pm today (0730 AEDT) in a bedroom in the Soho apartment, police said.

Spanish Steps covered in balls by Italian artist

Five hundred thousand brightly coloured plastic balls bounced down the Spanish Steps in Rome in a stunt by an anarchic artist.

As Mr Cecchini walked down the steps, with balls bouncing around him, he added: "I am leaving for Burma, these balls will help the Karen people."

Last October, Mr Cecchini gained notoriety after colouring the Trevi Fountain with blood red dye.

The police closed off the Piazza Spagna so the area could be cleaned.

Mr Cecchini is likely to be fined for his action.

Amy Winehouse Arrested -- Allegedly "Perverts Justice"

Yes yes yes! Singer Amy Winehouse has been arrested on suspicion of "perverting the course of justice" -- the UK's version of interfering with a police investigation.

TMZ has confirmed that the arrest was made "by appointment" in London today.

Last month, Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was arrested for the same thing -- related to the case of an alleged assault on a bartender last June.

Winehouse recently canceled her UK tour, supposedly because she was too upset over the arrest of Mr. Winehouse.

Someone, anyone ... please help!

Her rep confirmed that the singer has been arrested, but explained that this is common practice in the UK. There a person is technically arrested when they are brought in for questioning, but Winehouse has not been charged with anything. This was pre-arranged.

MADRID, December 5 (RIA Novosti) - Spanish police have discovered 1,800 items of gold stolen during an exhibition of ancient Latin American culture 10 years ago, a police spokesman said Wednesday.

Police said the jewelry and household items dating back to the Pre-Columbus era were discovered in a protected hiding place under a house in Santiago de Compostela, northwest Spain.

A Peruvian man, who organized the exhibition, is wanted by Spanish and Peruvian authorities for the theft, the spokesman said.

Currently, the treasures are being exhibited in Madrid's Museum of America and will later be sent back to Latin America, the spokesman said.

German police hold wanted former Georgian defence minister

Berlin - Berlin authorities are holding a former Georgian defence minister, Irakli Okruashvili, who is wanted in his home country on corruption and abuse of power charges, prosecutors in the German capital said Wednesday.

An application under the terms of a European extradition agreement was being examined, and the Georgian authorities were expected to provide evidence, official said.

The decision depends on rulings from a Berlin court and subsequently the Justice Ministry.

Okruashvili was arrested in Georgia in September on charges of corruption, money laundering and abuse of power before being released on bail and fleeing to Germany.

He had previously accused President Mikhail Saakashvili of serious crimes, including human rights abuses.

Tbilisi - Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili imposed a 15-day state of emergency after clashes between police and anti-government protesters he accuses Russia of backing.

Part of the centre of Tbilisi was cordoned off on Thursday after the pro-Western Saakashvili restricted public gatherings and the private media following a day of running battles between police and protesters calling for the president's resignation.

Police fired tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon at the protesters and 486 people were hospitalised after Wednesday's clashes, the health ministry said.

Saakashvili's government also expelled several Russian diplomats. Russia's Interfax news agency said three diplomats would be ordered out.

Earlier, there were reports that Police in the Georgian capital were beating demonstrators as they came under a barrage of bottles, sticks and stones after trying to clamp down on a sixth day of anti-government protests.

Hundreds of police fought with several thousand protestors surging through police lines from a square outside parliament to block the city's main Rustaveli Avenue.

Riot police in Georgia have used tear gas and water cannon to disperse thousands of anti-government protestors blocking the centre of the capital Tbilisi.

The assault by special forces wearing gas masks cleared several thousand demonstrators who had been occupying the central avenue outside parliament.

Police could be seen beating and punching protestors, but there were no immediate reports of serious injury.

The violence comes after six days of protests against President Mikheil Saakashvili, who came to power in the peaceful Rose Revolution in 2003, but is under growing pressure from opponents amid corruption allegations.

TBILISI (Reuters) - Georgian police fired tear gas and water cannon on Wednesday to break up a six-day protest calling on pro-U.S. President Mikhail Saakashvili to resign.

Riot police wearing gas masks and using batons and shields charged an area outside the parliament where around 3,000 demonstrators had gathered, chasing them through the streets.

A truck armed with a water cannon sprayed the protesters and police wearing body armor moved in formation down the streets firing tear gas.

The demonstrators fled, tripping over each other to escape the gas. Some could be seen being dragged bleeding into police cars. Ambulances sped through the streets, their sirens wailing.

Earlier opposition leaders had urged supporters to mass at 2 p.m. (1000 GMT) in force outside parliament, defying police moves in the morning to break up their six-day long protest.

TBLISI, Georgia (CNN/AP) -- Georgian security forces fired tear gas and water cannons at opposition supporters to disperse their protests outside the Georgian Parliament in Tibilisi Wednesday morning, according to Georgian television and other news agencies.

Georgian television broadcast live video of the protest Wednesday.

Demonstrations involving thousands of people over the last several days have called for the resignation of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.

Earlier Wednesday police had evicted around 100 protestors from a site, in front of the country's parliament, which has attracted thousands of demonstrators during the past week, The Associated Press quoted key opposition member Ivlian Khaindrava as saying. But protesters came back to the site only hours later, the agency added, before police moved in.
