Bucks and music producer Big Foot Lee of Feet 1st Productions. Having first worked together on the trailer for Bucks' film Destined to be Ingested, the pair hit it off and set off in search of a new music project.

Each track has a unique feel and vibe: “Mark of the Vampire” has a sensual, Gothic feel, “Plan Nine” is all juicy horn blasts and quotes from the awesome Criswell, and my personal fave “Blood Feast” uses a sweet, DJ Shadow trip-hop vibe to set up some brilliantly-edited layers of samples that actually make H.G. Lewis's crap dialogue (“It has not been served for five... thousand... years!”) sound like beat poetry.

All seven tracks will be available for download on Halloween via the official MySpace [www.myspace.com/7killingsin2weeks], but you can get your grubby claws on one of the 1000 limited-run CDs right now, for nothing more than the cost of shipping.

<clipSource>http://www.fearnet.com/news/reviews/b13254_big_foot_lee_dw_bucks_7_killings_in_2.html</clipSource>

The Skellingtons Are out of the Closet...

clipped by: CarnivalBorn

Clip Source: www.marketwatch.com

BURBANK, Calif., Sep 30, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
On September 30, Walt Disney Records unveils Nightmare Revisited
with 20 fresh recordings and beloved covers of the music, mayhem, and
merriment from Tim Burton's The Nightmare
Before Christmas. Danny Elfman returns to recapture the musical
landscape he masterfully created for the original The Nightmare
Before Christmas soundtrack with two brand new recordings of the "Opening"
      and "Closing."
Adding a new tantalizing twist to Nightmare favorites, Nightmare
Revisited also boasts an eclectic array of today's
music superstars including Korn, Amy Lee, Plain White T's,
Rise Against, Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Flyleaf. Of course the soundtrack
could not be complete without a popular ghost of Nightmare's
past: Marilyn Manson's eerie cover of "This
      Is Halloween."

Nightmare Revisited will be available September 30, 2008
wherever music is sold. All Walt Disney Records audio products also can

Horror movies and drinking games?! Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! I think that every horror fan (that's a drinker of course) would have a lot of fun with this, especially with October and Halloween comin' up. I know that I will!

There are plenty of general rules that can be applied to countless horror films (especially slasher flicks). Such as, drink everytime:

-there is a false scare
-a victim runs up the stairs rather than out of the house (LOL )
-you can see the killer but the victim can not
-a victim trips while being chased

(the list goes on)

I think it'd be even better to make up several rules for specific horror films. I can't think up of anything clever just yet, although I'm sure I will by the time this thread gets going. So, let's get thinking and then drinking!

<clipSource>http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37644</clipSource>

Halloween: origin and myth

clipped by: CarnivalBorn

Clip Source: www.dilutedreality.com

It was originated by the Celtic people who arose as a society around 800 BCE in Western Europe. These people held a celebration at the end of every October called Samhain, (pronounced sow-hen and meaning “summers end”), to celebrate the end of summer. It was during this time that the veil between this world and that of the dead became thin. Friends and relatives would crossover to our world on this day and the future could be foretold through prophecy.

There’s a common myth that “Samhain” was a Celtic God of the Dead. This myth, however, has been repeated so often by conservative Christian and secular sources that some think it’s true. It’s not.

But, more often Halloween is incorrectly linked to Satanism by conservative Protestants. The Christian Youth Alliance stated, “Satan loves Halloween because it glamorizes the powers of darkness, drawing little kids into his realm. And it is paying off, witchcraft is exploding among teens today.”

Nothing could be further from the truth.

<clipSource>http://www.dilutedreality.com/2008/09/18/history-halloween-origins-myths-2/</clipSource>

Halloween Beanies

clipped by: CarnivalBorn

Clip Source: toys.about.com

Ghoulianne The Ghost

<img src="http://clipmarks.com/image_cache/CarnivalBorn/512/791B3005-2C73-4141-A23C-52854FCF940A.gif" alt="Halloween Gifts - While I get that Christmas trees aren't necessarily "Christian" — they can be a fun way to celebrate the otherwise cold and dark winter season with light and color — there are some extremely odd ornaments for sale in the new catalog from Bronner's. Oh, I'm not talking about the usual wacky stuff: Snowmen, moose, birds, dolphins, vintage cars, Santa drinking wine, Betty Boop, frogs getting married, pirate ships, Hello Kitty, unicorns. I'm talking about seriously crazy items that will make even the most traditional among you say, well, Christ. What is this holiday really all about? Gadgets, pop icons, food products and mythic beasts, after the jump.

<clipSource>http://jezebel.com/5050583/9-really-weird-christmas-ornaments-from-bronners</clipSource>

Countdown to Halloween

clipped by: Plus, the history behind the name of the wine provides a rather grisly background, a ghost story that could be easily embellished.

In 1805, Lieutenant Gabriel Moraga was ordered by the Spanish Governor of California to explore the Great Central Valley. displace the local Natives, and re-name everything he found. Well, one day Gabe and his horsemen came across a river the banks of which were littered with skulls. No one knows for sure how the skulls came to be on the banks of this river. Perhaps they were the remains of an ancient battle, or a terrible plague. Or perhaps it was a really great party that suddenly went horribly wrong. Whatever the case old Gabe, being a true master of the obvious, named this river "El Rio De Las Calaveras" or in English, "The River of Skulls.

<clipSource>http://passionatefoodie.blogspot.com/2008/09/2006-twisted-oak-river-of-skulls.html</clipSource>

Awesome Halloween Costumes (scary)

clipped by:
