Not many people think of a sleepy Russian countryside as a place for gothic-styled castles, but here they are - proud, beautiful, one-of-a-kind architectural gems, unjustly forgotten and sadly abandoned....

I was browsing www.moviecynics.com and there were drinking games going along with some of their horror movie reviews. Horror movies and drinking games?! Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! I think that every horror fan (that's a drinker of course) would have a lot of fun with this, especially with October and Halloween comin' up. I know that I will!

There are plenty of general rules that can be applied to countless horror films (especially slasher flicks). Such as, drink everytime:

-there is a false scare
-a victim runs up the stairs rather than out of the house (LOL )
-you can see the killer but the victim can not
-a victim trips while being chased

(the list goes on)

I think it'd be even better to make up several rules for specific horror films. I can't think up of anything clever just yet, although I'm sure I will by the time this thread gets going. So, let's get thinking and then drinking!

It was originated by the Celtic people who arose as a society around 800 BCE in Western Europe. These people held a celebration at the end of every October called Samhain, (pronounced sow-hen and meaning “summers end”), to celebrate the end of summer. It was during this time that the veil between this world and that of the dead became thin. Friends and relatives would crossover to our world on this day and the future could be foretold through prophecy.

There’s a common myth that “Samhain” was a Celtic God of the Dead. This myth, however, has been repeated so often by conservative Christian and secular sources that some think it’s true. It’s not.

But, more often Halloween is incorrectly linked to Satanism by conservative Protestants. The Christian Youth Alliance stated, “Satan loves Halloween because it glamorizes the powers of darkness, drawing little kids into his realm. And it is paying off, witchcraft is exploding among teens today.”

Nothing could be further from the truth.
