Chocolate Cake In 5 Minutes!

4 Tablespoons cake flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil
1 Mug

Instructions:

Mix flour, sugar and cocoa:

Spoon in 1 egg

Pour in milk and oil, and mix well

Put in microwave for 3 minutes on maximum power (1000watt)

Wait until it stops rising and sets in the mug

Tip contents out of mug onto saucer and enjoy!

"O Canada" was proclaimed Canada's national anthem on July 1, 1980, 100 years after it was first sung on June 24, 1880. The music was composed by Calixa Lavallée, a well-known composer; French lyrics to accompany the music were written by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier. The song gained steadily in popularity. Many English versions have appeared over the years. The version on which the official English lyrics are based was written in 1908 by Mr. Justice Robert Stanley Weir. The official English version includes changes recommended in 1968 by a Special Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Commons. The French lyrics remain unaltered.

Cherry Mojitos

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 cups fresh lime juice (about 9 limes)
3 pounds dark cherries, such as Bing or Burlat, pitted
2 1/4 cups best-quality black cherry or plain vodka*
1 (750 ml) bottle sparkling water

Directions

Bring sugar and 1 1/4 cups water to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat; let cool completely. (Makes about 2 cups syrup.) Syrup can be refrigerated in an airtight container up to 1 month.
Put lime juice into a medium nonreactive bowl. Halve 2/3 of the cherries; add all cherries to lime juice. Stir in syrup. Refrigerate at least 1 hour (up to overnight).
Stir cherry mixture and vodka in a large serving bowl.
Fill 12 glasses with ice. Spoon 1/2 cup cherry-vodka mixture into each glass.
Top with sparkling water; serve immediately.

Serves 12.

Woman beats 7-foot-3 sex offender with baseball bat

The 7-foot-3 man was beaten so badly, medics transported him to a hospital.

"I kept swingin' and swingin' and swingin," court documents say Tammy Gibson told police, who arrested her in Cottonwood Mobile Home Park.

Gibson has been charged with second-degree assault and felony harassment.

Gibson went to the home where the man, William Baldwin, is living, knocked on the door and asked for him. Then she accused him of molesting her children and beat him with the bat, according to court documents.

Baldwin moved to the 1800 block of River Road earlier this month to live with his uncle. Fliers were posted in the neighborhood on Monday.

The fliers detailed his conviction for first-degree child molestation in 1998. According to police, Baldwin was on parole for forcing his 5-year-old neighbor to touch him sexually when he lured another 5-year-old into a backyard doghouse, where he sexually assaulted her.

He is considered a high risk to re-offend.

Free Rice for Burmese Survivors

If you've been on the internet in the past year, you have likely come across Free Rice, the online vocabulary building game that donates 20 grains of rice to the World Food Program for each word correctly defined. The site went viral after its launch last year. To date, 36 billion grains of rice have been donated through the site by sponsors who advertise on the Free Rice homepage. It's a win-win: users build their vocab, the hungry get fed.

Today, the World Food Program announced that rice donated through Free Rice is going to the Burmese survivors of last month's cyclone; two of the site's sponsors, YUM! and Unilever are paying for the consignments of rice to Burma.

Not a bad way to find out that "sastruga" means "wind-formed snow ridge."
