clipper's remarks: Since republicans have made flag politics a cornerstone of their campaigns (instead of trying to solve problems that face average Americans everyday), you would think the leader of the conservatives and republicans wouldn't keep disrespecting the flag as he does here and on opening night of the olympics.

However, I do think this symbolizes something very profound. America has gone backward under Bush and the republican presidency.

Old Glory, Oh Lordy! American Flag Flip-Flopped

George W. Bush seems happy as ever as America's cheerleader-in-chief at the Beijing Olympics. Too bad his handlers didn't take care of the flag business as they normally do in arranging props for the President.

So, is Dubya using the flag to make a political statement? Is he unAmerican? What if a figurehead like Miss America showed disrespect like this for America's number one symbol?

McCain To Katrina Victims In 2005: You're On Your Own

Too bad he spent the months to follow leading the Republican charge against every Senate bill that would have actually helped Katrina victims or mandated investigations on how the Bush administration could have blown disaster response so thoroughly.

Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden jumped immediately to the aid of hurricane victims in the week after the 2005 disaster, authoring S.Amdt. 1661 "…to provide emergency funding for victims of Hurricane Katrina."

But with John McCain's help, the Republican-led Senate shot down the funding on a 41-56 vote with McCain voting against, while Biden and Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama voted for the funding.

It doesn’t really come as a surprise to those of us who have watched John McCain over the years that he's about to make a campaign stop in New Orleans after Hurricane Gustav hits this week. After all, he's been exploiting the troops for years, what's a few hurricane victims after that?

What does seem odd is that McCain thinks Gulf Coast residents will forget how he, George W. Bush and the then-Republican Congress turned their backs on them so many times in the months after Katrina thundered ashore in 2005

McCain was big on rote sympathy right after the disaster,

American citizens have proven time and again how generous and selfless a people we are, and now we have an opportunity to come to the aid of those in need

A week later

Our work to help the victims of this national tragedy has just begun, and Congress must do all that is necessary to fund essential relief and recovery efforts and help those in need."

John Edwards = John McCain

clipper's remarks: Edwards was a typical "guy" in his cheating ways: "But going out and getting stupidly laid and then coming home and reconciling with the wife is not the same as going out, getting stupidly laid, then divorcing the crippled wife and marrying the pretty young thing (and taking out your marriage license before the divorce is final). One is stupid. The other is cruel. Brutal. Heinous. And well within the moral capacities of our Republican presidential candidate."

Cenk Uygur, in his regular blog at AOL News, observes, "Now that Edwards has admitted to an extramarital affair, everyone will now condemn him and say he has no political career left. I want to ask all of those people, how is Edwards' affair any different John McCain's? If Edwards is disqualified from running for office because of this, isn't McCain as well?"

Cindy McCain's Half-Sister: I'm Voting For Obama

"I'm not voting for McCain," Kathleen Hensley Portalski tells Us.

"I'm voting for Obama," the Phoenix resident says. "I think his proposals to improve the country are more positive and I'm not a big war believer."

Portalski's son Nathan, an aerospace machinist, is also backing Obama.

"I wouldn't vote for John McCain if he was a Democrat," he tells Us. "I would not vote at all before I'd vote for him.

"I question whether Cindy is someone I'd want to see in the White House as first lady," he adds.

Portalski went public with her connection to the McCains after hearing Cindy say on the trail that she was an only child.

"I'm upset," she told NPR. "I'm angry. It makes me feel like a nonperson, kind of."

"It's terribly painful," Portalski added. "It is as if she is the 'real' daughter. I am also a real daughter."

I think we will look back at today as the day when the Republicans most certainly lost the Presidency.

In choosing Sarah Palin of Alaska for Vice President, the Republicans have made a cynical but clever choice. At least they think it is clever.

She has NO national experience.

She has never been under the intense scrutiny of a national campaign.

She is under investigation for some incident in Alaska that is messy and personal.

She has no international experience.

When Republicans and independents go into the voting booth, will they have the confidence to vote for a McCain-Palin ticket, knowing that John McCain has had several recurrences of his skin cancer, and will be the oldest President ever? Can they imagine Sarah Palin stepping into the Oval Office and dealing with all the problems we face right now?

clipper's remarks: After you watch the video youtube shows a total of seven clips about Romney's earpiece and the whispering that can be heard over the microphone. In one of the videos to the right there is whispering for another question but you have to turn up the volume really loud.

I still remember Bush interrupting himself as he was speaking, and no one else at the debate had said anything. He was rambling through an answer and he stopped in mid answer and says "Let me finish".........but no one had said anything. This was the debate with the mysterious lump in the back of his jacket and a power cord line.

What a pack of losers.
