The Japanese Kobe Wagyu burger served at Old Homestead Steakhouse in Manhattan may explode with flavor, but it will light your wallet on fire too.

The west side restaurant Tuesday turned the favorite American classic into a Japanese luxury when it unveiled its 18-ounce $81 burger, made from the highest grade of Japanese Kobe Wagyu.

Each burger is made with 14 ounces of the high-end Japanese beef and 4 ounces of barely-seared sirloin Wagyu medallion tucked inside. It comes with Executive Chef Oscar Martinez's own sake onion ketchup, miso and ginger aioli, and a side of tater tots.

Bush to bypass laws to build border fence

The Bush administration will use its authority to bypass more than 30 laws and regulations in an effort to finish building 670 miles of fence along the southwest U.S. border by the end of this year, federal officials said Tuesday.

"Criminal activity at the border does not stop for endless debate or protracted litigation," Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in a statement. "These waivers will enable important security projects to keep moving forward."

nvoking the two legal waivers — which Congress authorized — will cut through bureaucratic red tape and sidestep environmental laws that currently stand in the way of the Homeland Security Department building 267 miles of fencing in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, according to officials familiar with the plan. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment publicly about it.

Foxboro teacher Gregg Woodward faces child porn rap

An English teacher at Foxborough High School has been arrested on charges of possessing child pornography.

Federal prosecutors say 45-year-old Gregg Woodward of Milford made an initial appearance in court on Monday and is scheduled to return on Wednesday for a probable cause and detention hearing.

Authorities allege that Woodward bought access to at least two Web sites last year that distribute child pornography.

schools Superintendent Chris Martes sent a message home with high school students saying Woodward has been suspended without pay and that there is no evidence that students were involved.

Woodward faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison if convicted.

Bush Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and US President George W. Bush have been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by a Norwegian politician.

Harald Tom Nevsik, a member of the right-wing Party for Progress, said that he had nominated the two world leaders for fighting terrorism and promoting world peace.

Conservatives have long viewed the Nobel Peace Prize as something of a joke. They have scoffed at Arafat, Carter, and Gore when each took a turn at the Swedish podium. So, perhaps Nevsik simply figured, what's good for the goose...

What are Bush's chances at taking this year's prize? Well, in this topsy-turvy world, I suppose anything is possible.

Pennsylvania Democratic Presidential Primary

Pennsylvania: Clinton 47% Obama 42%

Senator Hillary Clinton’s lead in the Pennsylvania Primary is shrinking.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in Pennsylvania shows Clinton leading Barack Obama by just five percentage points, 47% to 42%. For Clinton, that five-point edge is down from a ten-point lead a week ago, a thirteen-point lead in mid-March and a fifteen-point advantage in early March.

Support for Clinton slipped from 52% early in March, to 51% in mid-month, 49% a week ago, and 47% today. During that same time frame, support for Obama has increased from 37% to 42%.

A separate survey found that both Democrats are in a competitive race with John McCain for Pennsylvania’s Electoral College votes. Nationally, McCain currently leads both Democrats in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll. Looking at the Electoral College, the race is essentially a Toss-Up.
