And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul.

Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”

Clip Source: www.politico.com

On behalf of the elite media, I would like to say we are very sorry.

We have asked questions this week that we should never have asked.

We have asked pathetic questions like: Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?

We have asked mean questions like: How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?

Bad questions. Bad media. Bad.

It is not our job to ask questions. Or it shouldn’t be. To hear from the pols at the Republican National Convention this week, our job is to endorse and support the decisions of the pols.

we should have stuck to the warm, human interest stuff like

mooseburgers

we should have stuck to the press release stuff

we should never have strayed into the other stuff. Like

Palin is under investigation

Why go there?

Tags: palin

<clipSource>http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13143.html</clipSource>

Anne Has Known Sarah Palin Since 1992

clipped by: BartendingBear
clipper's remarks: You have to read the clipped source for the full value of the remarks. Much more in the original text of the letter than the clip can show. Anne suggests that you Google her name and you will see that she is the real deal. She lays bare both the good and the bad about Sarah.

Clip Source: www.washingtonindependent.com

I am a resident of Wasilla, Alaska. She had been
pushed to hire this administrator by party power-brokers after she had
gotten herself into some trouble over precipitous firings which had

given rise to a recall campaign.

She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it
with indebtedness of over $22 million.

While Mayor, City Hall was extensively remodeled and her office

redecorated more than once.

As Mayor, she fought ideas that weren’t generated by
her or her staff.

There has to be literally millions of Americans who are more

knowledgeable and experienced than she.

Tags: palin

<clipSource>http://www.washingtonindependent.com/3671/the-reform-candidate#comment-1994895</clipSource>

This Is What A Police State Looks Like

clipped by: BartendingBear
clipper's remarks: Dissent is patriotic.

Clip Source: www.lewrockwell.com

In Denver, we're so afraid of unarmed civilians, we send 2 cops for each protestor.

Clip Source: www.denverpost.com

Police in riot gear surround

There's no doubt about it -- Chrome is ridiculously faster than Firefox and IE. But you, like virtually every computer user out there, probably didn't even bother to gloss over the Chrome Terms of Service.

In other words, by posting anything (via Chrome) to your blog(s), any forum, video site, myspace, itunes, or any other site that might happen to be supporting you, Google can use your work without paying you a dime. They can go and edit it all they want. Even further, you're claiming that you have the power to grant these rights. So no one who works for Conde Nast (Wired, Arstechnica), TechCrunch, Gawker, any of the other big web publishers, or a university where the employee is performing research can agree to the Chrome ToS because they most likely don't have the right to give a license to the intellectual property (IP) they produce.

Soldier suicides this year could surpass the record rate of last year, Army officials said Thursday, urging military leaders at all levels to redouble prevention efforts for a force strained by two wars.

As of the end of August, there were 62 confirmed suicides among active duty soldiers and Guard and Reserve troops called to active duty, officials said. Another 31 deaths appear to be suicides but are still being investigated.

If all are confirmed, that means that the number for 2008 could eclipse the 115 of last year - and the rate per 100,000 could surpass that of the civilian population, Col. Eddie Stephens, deputy director of human resources policy, said at a Pentagon news conference.

"Army leaders are fully aware that repeated deployments have led to increased distress and anxiety for both soldiers and their families," Army Secretary Pete Geren said.

If the overall numbers continue

they would eclipse the 115 of 2007, 102 in 2006, 87 in 2005 and 67 in 2004.

<clipSource>http://wjz.com/national/army.soldiers.suicide.2.810347.html</clipSource>

1,000,000 For Impeachment

clipped by: BartendingBear
clipper's remarks: People are agitated and doing something about it.
