To begin with, talk show hosts

are popular and powerful because they appeal to a segment of the population that feels disenfranchised and even victimized by the media. These people believe the media are predominantly staffed by and consistently reflect the views of social liberals. This view is by now so long-held and deep-rooted, it has evolved into part of virtually every conservative’s DNA.

To succeed, a talk show host must perpetuate the notion that his or her listeners are victims, and the host is the vehicle by which they can become empowered. The host frames virtually every issue in us-versus-them terms. There has to be a bad guy against whom the host will emphatically defend those loyal listeners.

This enemy can be a politician – either a Democratic officeholder or,

it can be a “RINO” (a “Republican In Name Only,” who is deemed not conservative enough). It can be the cold, cruel government bureaucracy. More often than not

the enemy is the “mainstream media”

He might not raise your taxes per se, but there are many ways your will feel taxed to death. Repeal of Bush's tax cuts. Death tax. Take the FICA cap off. Increase fuel tax. Tax the oil companies (which will result in dramatically higher fuel prices at the pump), etc. etc. It will be a grave mistake to bring this trojan horse into the white house. The only ones who will benefit will be blacks and illegals.

In America, the Fourth of July is the day we celebrate the announcement, to the world, that a new kind of governing ideal had come to stay. It celebrates a letter, written primarily by Thomas Jefferson, sent to King George III and the rest of the world telling them a new way of life has proven itself in America, and Americans want to retain that way.

Today, Americans are on the verge of cancelling that letter. Too many today prefer to be managed riff-raff and no longer responsible for themselves. The task of living free is too difficult. We have arrived at a time when Americans are rejecting the contents of that letter, the Declaration of Independence, and want to return to the Old World ways, where the few elite rule the many. In the coming election, we are looking for the return of the elite few who will shape and manage our lives as they see fit.
