Watch and learn about religion and how it works. Formally under "Conversion". How evangelicals and charismatics "convert" the mind.

Clip Source: video.google.com

Tags: bible, christian, christianity, church, faith, god, religion, superstition, theology, messiah

<clipSource>http://video.google.com/videohosted?docid=-628892587589941828</clipSource>

Moishe and the Pope -- you'll love this very short story!

clipped by: AcesLucky
clipper's remarks: You'll love this story! Find out what happened to save the Jews.

Clip Source: www.scripting.com

Moishe and the Pope

About a century or two ago, the Pope decided that all the Jewish people had to leave Rome.

the Pope made a deal. He would have a religious debate with a member of the Jewish community. If the representative won, the Jews could stay. If the Pope won, the Jews would leave.

in desperation, they finally picked an old man named Moishe, who spent his life sweeping up after people, to represent them.

He asked only for one condition to the debate. Not being used to saying very much as he cleaned up around the settlement, he asked that neither side be allowed to talk. The Pope agreed.

The day of the great debate came.

The Pope stood up and announced, "I give up. This man is too good. The Jews may stay.'

Tags: jews, religion, theology, pope, debate

<clipSource>http://www.scripting.com/98/04/stories/moisheAndThePope.html</clipSource>

Does the Universe Have a Purpose?

clipped by: AcesLucky
clipper's remarks: Scholarly essays by professors and such.

Clip Source: www.templeton.org

Does the Universe Have a Purpose?

Summary: The Bible has many harsh
critics. The most notable among them is God.

How even the most remedial knowledge
of science that every child should know is enough to completely discredit
the Bible. Evolution is the least of the Bible's problems.

How the Bible contradicts itself on
even the most fundamental of theological issues, from the divinity of Christ
to the proper path of salvation.

How the Bible glorfies certain acts of
rape, genocide, slavery, bigotry and other cruelties.

The true history of "Hell" and what

Below is a short description of a few horrendous inventions used to torture and murder those suspected of drifting from Church dictatorship and its so-called 'moral values'.

The Heretic's Fork (also pictured in use top right) was designed not to damage any vital area.
Every day when she looks out, she sees an old Jewish man praying vigorously. So the journalist goes down and introduces herself to the old man.

She asks: "You come every day to the wall. How long have you done that and what are you praying for?"

The old man replies, "I have come here to pray every day for 25 years. In the morning I pray for world peace and then for the brotherhood of man. I go home have a cup of tea and I come back and pray for the eradication of illness and disease from the earth."

The journalist is amazed. "How does it make you feel to come here every day for 25 years and pray for these things?" she asks.

The old man looks at her sadly. "Like I'm talking to a wall."

No matter how often the confidence scammers are exposed, those
who believe will happily continue to pay cold hard cash to be
deceived.

"The true-believer syndrome merits study by science.
What is it that compels a person, past all reason, to
believe the unbelievable? How can an otherwise sane
individual become so enamored of a fantasy, an
imposture, that even after it's exposed in the bright
light of day he still clings to it--- indeed, clings to
it all the harder?

"The true-believer syndrome is the greatest thing
phony mediums have going for them. No amount of logic
can shatter a faith consciously based on a lie."

No amount of evidence to
the contrary, including confession by the fraud who performed
the tricks, is good enough to sway the True Believer. If you
are among these poor souls, well, you have my sympathy, but you
must admit you "had it comming to you." After all, you
believe the impossible--- shouldn't you pay for such stupidity?

Tags: culture, religion, superstition, theology, god, fraud

<clipSource>http://www.holysmoke.org/keene.htm</clipSource>

No proof of Rama's existence, says ASI

clipped by: AcesLucky
clipper's remarks: Are most (if not all) religions based on folklore?

Clip Source: www.expressindia.com

No proof of Rama’s existence: Centre

New Delhi, September 12: In the midst of a political controversy over the Sethusamudram project, the Centre on Wednesday told the Supreme Court that there was no historical evidence to establish the existence of Lord Rama or the other characters in Ramayana.
