Windows Vista Home Basic could be the most pointless edition of Windows that Microsoft has ever released. Let me be clear: I like Windows Vista. I applaud it, in fact. It's the smartest, easiest-to-use Windows OS yet. Most of the Vista editions Microsoft is rolling out make good, clean sense—Business, Premium, even Ultimate, though that name does kind of box Microsoft in for future versions (could they ever top Ultimate?).

QuickTime flaw could go beyond MySpace

clipper's remarks: Secure Computing article on the virus which was spread on myspace through a hole in the program upgrade for Quicktime video players. Though a patch was created and passed out at Myspace unless the fix to the upgrade is distributed by quicktime other users and sites can be at the same type of risk. As Apple is aware of the issue, and worked on fixing the patch it is likely that they may have already made it available at their site. However, if people don't know they need a patch, they could be equally vulnerable to phishing attacks using "fake browser windows using the quicktime player to collect passwords.
I recieved my copy of the patch through Myspace. clipper's remarks: The site is http://www.wiihaveaproblem.com you really do want to visit the site to read the story about how ants were living in the battery compartment of the controllers. the page author questions the validity of the story as it was quite a stretch and quite an unusual submission by users. I kinda think that heavy snacking at game time with sticky foods could make the controllers quite a nice hangout. Wash your hands people. Don't make your controllers smell like all the wonderful snack foods you bring into the house.

clipper's remarks: This whole site is dedicated to accidents and damage caused by users playing video games with the Wii system. From straps breaking, to people breaking their devices trying to test how well they are built on purpose the stories are quite humorous. The site owner post most often from those who have sent in pictures. He also adds comments when it appears to be a fake story done for attention. In most cases the accidents occur by overzealous players whose straps break sending the controller which is tethered to their wrist, across the room. And in many cases the user admits not making sure they had enough free space around them or that they had actually ordered thicker straps. A high number of accidents while simulating playing Tennis or Bowling. Go figure. funny stuff

"I Write" Pencil Drawing by Debra Ford 1998

This Pencil Drawing was done in 1998 While in Houston. It was a paired set. The first drawing was done in a sketch book. The second larger was done on Paper. This is a photo of the 2nd drawing which is now a part of a private art collection. Additional discussion on this piece will be posted in the future. This drawing was done in layers with a variety of lead thicknesses and hardness. The H series and the B series pencils were used.

clipper's remarks: Much discussion has taken place over the actual goals of clipmarks. I think this earlier version of the site states the mission well. Sometimes all the cute little updates and upgrades overshadow the power of a simle statement. So having found this home page version archived in the "Way back Machine" I thought I'd clip it. Of course since I cclipped most of the page that doesn't really work well with the mission. but it did seem like a good way to show ti to fellow clipmarks users
